Cant turn off google search history on Huawei p20 Pro

I have recently moved from a Samsung galaxy S7 to a Huawei P20 pro a fantastic phone but noatter what I do I can't turn off Google search history... Any help greatly appreciated.

You can do it via Google on my OnePlus 6. Might work on your device

Can you not go to Google activity.
Delete it from beginning of time.
Then delete Google history.
Do this once a week.
