Can't turn off sms notification popup

This problem only began after the android update last week.

I use go sms and successfully turned off its popup notification.

I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.

I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.

If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......

I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications.... any ideas?

Hello!

Do you want to get notifications only from the iPhone notifications app? So, have you disabled the following option from the GoSMS and the stock SMS app?

In Go SMS:
Settings -> Advanced Tab - > Notification Settings -> Enabled Notifications

In stock SMS app:
Settings - > Notifications

If so, the notifications in the status bar should be coming from another sms app, or sms notifications app!
Anyway, if you are not satisfied with any of the aforementioned apps, you can try Popup Notifications (https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...erfly.iserm.popupnotifications&token=sUoV74wn), for pop-up style sms notifications, which works great with other sms apps, just after having the notification option disabled on each of them!
