Can't unlock Note20U because FPS and swipe up stopped working, screen not responsive!

You cant get into the phone with pin or password? Or just the fingerprint scanner not working?

Nothing about the touchscreen was working, other than the S-Pen. I had forgotten how to force the phone to restart without the touchscreen but B. Diddy reminded me what to do so I did a regular restart and the screen was fine after that. I think I'm going to call Samsung tomorrow though just to make sure that they don't think something more is wrong with it. It HAD been quite a while since I had restarted so maybe that's all it was.

Ahh ok

At least you know how to trigger a reboot, but it's most like a confluence of events that caused the phone to act stupid. They're all prone to just the right conditions causing them to act up, sometimes.

True , its good to have the device reboot once in awhile

I've had the Notes scheduled for two reboots a week, out of general principal. The morning my 5 glitched, it caused me to be a few minutes late on a delivery in Detroit. Fortunately, I was in my "window," so everything was fine, but they could've gotten nasty about it.

Born in Detroit well Dearborn

This is crazy because my sister is dealing with this same issue on her note 10 +. The only way she's able to use her phone is with the S pen. If she tries to use her finger on the screen it doesn't work at all. I had her do a restart when she told me her issue, but that didn't help. It's weird. I'm assuming she doesn't use the fps because she's still able to use the phone. Idk. It's weird and I thought it was just her.

In the case of the OP it did help. Are you saying a restart never clears the problem?

It was time for a reboot anyway as I have no idea when the last time was that I restarted it.

In her case it could be a bad digitizer. She could try unlocking it through the Samsung account but I'm not sure that would help.
She's unlocking it and using it normally with the exception of touching it with her finger. Lol

I would normally suggest a factory reset in case it's a software issue, however if it's hardware not sure the Spen would work on start up which could be risky. Is it still under warranty?

No it's not under warranty still .

Yeah, I reached the point of trying to remember, and just scheduled them for two nights a week, just on general principle. Just like I update and do a couple of "settling" reboots that became standard practice for me back when I owned BlackBerrys and did OTA updating for the first time. And really, all things considered, I've had very few phone issues after updates compared to some folks I know.
