Help!
I upgraded to an Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy captivate this past July 15. My carrier is AT&T.
Here's my problem.
I've recently begun building and selling Mobile Friendly Websites. My sole purpose for upgrading to a smart phone was to be able to test the mobile sites that I have built and to be able to prospect for new clients.
The ability to detected whether or no a prospective client already has a mobile site or not is crucial to the prospecting process. In addition, the ability to show a prospect how his desktop site displays on a smart device as compared to a mobile friendly device is a crucial element to the sales process...maybe the most crucial...a picture being worth a thousand words.
This Captivate does not detect the majority of the mobile sites that I test for...even the ones that I've built myself. I have been keeping a list of the mobile sites that this phone "ignores".
These same sites do display on the three desktop simulators that I also use for testing and also on iPhones and Blackberry phones owned by friends and family members. The only way that I can pull most mobile sites up on this Android 2.2 is by inserting the m. subdomain into the URl, which defeats the whole point of mobile search and redirect.
I've since read on a couple of forums that this is a problem with Androids using the 2.2 OS. What I haven't read is what the solution is. Can anyone help, or possibly shed some light on this situation?
Thank,
GerryLee
