Mount looks sturdy. i personally would put it higher or lower so teh cord does not dangle. But that is me.

Can you post a pic of the other side, with the bottom support on it please? And is it a clamp style that must be released etc?

Pretty positive no HTC google phone has car mode. That's only the Moto Droids.

Universal car dock from Sprint is an awesome alternative for the Evo. Lovin mine

I concur, its a great dock. I've left it on the windshield in the blaring and humid Texas heat and stayed on fine.

Navigator does support landscape mode. Have to have "home" buttons to the right.

OK, the rumored official car dock. I would imaging that a 3rd party dock could also trigger the Navigator app when docked as well...not sure though.

Technically the phone just has to recognize it is connected to a car kit, then the settings in the Navigator app allow you to set it to auto launch when in car kit mode.

Kind of pointless to offer Navigation and a Navigator App that comes preinstalled on the phone and then not offer a car kit of any kind don't you think?

I tried a couple of universal kits and didn't like them. Seidio has one in "Development" but who knows when it will hit. Heck they made a car kit for the HD2 on T-Mobile which is VERY similar in size and style to the EVO.... Seems it would take very minimal adjustments from the HD2 kit to make it work perfectly with the EVO... Heck I actually think there was a guy who broke the HD2 car kit and made it fit with the EVO....

It's not pointless. Most Sprint phones have navigation and I've used it a lot without a dock. I'd like a dock, but it's not required or necessary to use the navigation.

I guess more accurate would be to offer a phone with a 4.3 inch screen, with navigation and not offer up a car kit is pointless. Yeah I have actually used the Google Navigation a couple of times with out the option of a dock in my car. My wife's blackberry on Sprint has the Sprint Navigation but with that tiny screen it wouldn't do jack being mounted on the dash of her car.

It's still just odd there is nothing out there for it.... Even after market/secondary vendors are just showing "Under Development" on their car kits for the EVO. I know even once it's done it will have to pass FCC before they can sell it... That is the same process and excuse Google had on the Desktop dock and Car Kit for the Nexus One. "Waiting on FCC approval"

They all say "End of July" which was always the "RUMOR" on the Car and Desktop Docking stations.... Is the 26th of July considered the "END" of July?

I would love the car mount.... I would probably use the Desktop mount on my night stand..... Oh well.... As hot as the EVO is you would think SOME THING would be out there by now...

Just spoke to HTC, and they had said these accessories are pushed back a bit.
