Car mount recommendations?

Just picked up my Mega last week (my farsighted eyes LOVE this monster display) and was wondering if anyone is using a particular car mount with theirs? This phone will obviously rock as a GPS with it's huge display, but it's also a beast so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a particular car mount that would accommodate this mammoth handset and hold it securely. I've had smaller phones in different universal mounts that would just come loose at random sometimes, so I don't want to waste my money going through trial and error by purchasing mount after mount until finding one that works well. Hoping someone here has experience with a good one and can save me some time and money. Thanks!

I've had success with a cheapo $5 universal mount and my Note 3...with some important modifications.

1. I use SuperGlue. The plastic tension nut that is commonly used to hold the ball joint on these universal mounts is cheap and will come loose, resulting in the unexpected slouching/angling of your phone when you go to tap the screen. Get the angle set the way you want, and then squirt a nice bead of superglue in the threads before tightening all the way. Won't have any more random loosenings.

2. Replace the "pads". The universal mounts I have all had crappy foam rubber pads on the gripper arms that used weak adhesive to hold them on. EVERY one of these pads has fallen off on me. I prefer to use the "soft" side of industrial velcro tape from 3M. This gives a little bit of protection for your device's edges, but not a bunch of unnecessary padding and "give" that stresses the adhesive.

With these 2 modifications, most cheap "Universal" car mounts get a lot easier to use!

Samsung model ECS-K200BEGSTD Better
I checked the store and the car dock but Samsung EE-V100TABEGWW is a little too big and the worst that holds in place the volume buttons on and off. I finally bought a Samsung model ECS-K200BEGSTD that fits just right.
Well hold and can also shoot while driving. It fits even though the packaging says it is up to 5.5 inches. However, it is loose enough that you can slide the Mega and lock arms by squeezing the handle. I recommend buying and how to borrow a camera to take your picture Mega holder. Samsung Holder is solidly made and has raised with me the most confidence in the GT-I9205 mounting in the car. Other third-party designs look a little cheesy as that had just burst, which confirmed me in the purchase of Samsung.

I managed to find a generic mount on sale at Office Depot that friction mounts into a cup holder and has a very rigid articulating gooseneck. The clamp itself has sufficient padding and holds the Mega quite securely. It is also space so the arms do not interfere with the volume and power buttons. I've only tested it on two short trip a so far, but it looks like a keeper.

I wonder if the imagnet smartphone mount can handle the Mega 6.3.
They make a tablet mount but the manufacturer says it is not for tablets less than 5" wide.

I have one ordered and should receive it and my Mega today (hopefully). If it works, I will let you know. I will be trying it both with an Otterbox defender case and without. I ordered the smartphone mount instead of the tablet mount due to the size.

My phone and mount arrived yesterday and I haven't had time to put the mount in the car and use it on the road, but I did put one of the metal disks inside my Otterbox case between the plastic sleeve and the rubber cover. It makes the back bulge slightly, but it's really only noticeable if you are looking for it. With the metal disk inside the case, it holds pretty firmly to the magnet and I think it will work fine on the road. I will get it mounted before heading home tonight. I would like a slightly stronger magnet on the mount just to make me feel a bit safer, but I can try a different disk or multiple disks in the case to see if that makes it stronger. Again, I think it will work as is, though. If you have a lighter case on your phone, it will work even better. The mount comes with disks that can be stuck to the outside of the case or phone and will work the best. I will update as I use it a bit more and will definitely let you all know if it fails.
FYI, while looking for mounts, I also came across the iBolt and the Proclip . They cost a bit more, but should work with a range of cases (or none) and include charging.

I got to try it out last night and it held the phone in the Otterbox case fine until I started messing with it and changing playlists. Then it slowly started sliding off the mount and fell. The problem is that the metal disks are fairly small and you have to make sure the disk is over the magnet. This morning I added another disk and it held the phone all the way in to work (45 minute drive) with no problems. I will also try adding a thicker metal plate in the back to give more surface area for the magnet to mate to. With that being said, the Tablet imagnet mount would probably be a better choice with the caveat that I don't know if the metal disks would fit on the back of the phone.

I had a problen with the Mega staying put with the disk inside of a thin cover. Phone swiveled and fell off a few times. Once fell on usb power cord and destroyed the connector. I now have the larger rectangular metal plate taped to the outside of the case. Doesn't look so good and capable of scratching a wood table.
I purchased this after getting a response from the manufacturer that the phone mount would be fine with the 6.3 Mega. I would not recommend it unless folks are okay with my solution.
Now holds pretty well. One really hard NYC bump knocked it off yesterday. Luckily no damage.
I am not sure if the iPad disk would even fit the back of the Mega.
