So has anyone found a decent car mount that also does wireless charging? What I'm ultimately looking for is one that plus into the 12v socket and it would get its power from there without having to plug in another cord. Is something like this even available???

We're all of a like mind, I was in a local Wal-Mart looking for a car vent mount. The one I liked is magnetic, so I didn't get it because I use the wireless charging pad too often to have to worry about conflicts btwn the 2.

The mophie system seems interesting as also allows wireless charging when not in car. I think the N8 system is not out yet.

I'm looking for one as well,. I currently have a magnetic one in my car, holds my phone great, but my free memory card and wireless charger came yesterday, and the wireless charger won't work with the magnet inside my case.

I've heard that the metal part on the phone needs to be lower than the top half for the wireless charger to work.

If my "freebies" ever arrive, I'll test it with my old mount.

Hmmm. You are absolutely right,. I moved the metal part to the bottom of my case and the wireless charging works now through my Spigen case. Thank you!!

If the metal is too low, how does the phone sit on the car charger? Does it flip down from weight of the phone?

These magnets are typically quite strong. I doubt a phone would tip forward in this configuration. As long as the metal plate covers the magnetic part of the holder, it should be good.
