Carrier branding prominent on the Note 7?

I think it's bull that we still deal with preloaded apps and carrier branding on Samsung phones. Samsung has enough pull now, like apple to tell them to [removed] off.

I don't understand... what has changed that makes you think they wouldn't still do it? They all do it, so there is not competitive advantage to NOT doing it. The stuff us easy to get rid of, and they are not sneaky about it. the thing isn't even out yet and you know it will be there. Its a lot of aggravation about nothing... at least nothing we can change.

Is this a serious post? Samsung doesn't have the market share to tell a wireless company they can't preload a phone with junk?
Yes it is a serious post. Samsung has the international market share, in the USA, Apple still has the market share.

Samsung has Samsung apps. Apple have Apple apps. No different :).

Samsung can be more like apple and tell them to f off and now load the phones with junk. If the carriers couldn't touch a phone, updates could come quickly. Of course at that point, it would be on Samsung to deliver. The AT&T Note 4 is still stuck on Lollipop till this day.

You clearly are not understanding me, I am talking about carrier bloat.. You know, AT&T puts about 10 or more junk apps into the phone. I am not talking about Samsung's preloaded apps. Years ago people were on here saying how Android manufactures don't have enough pull like apple to not let carriers ruin phones, Samsung has that pull now.

We all understand what you are talking about. We have all owned various Samsung, various carrier, phones.

Ah. Well Android is more open than Apple. Apple controls it 100% whereas Android can be used by various manufactures. This opened it to modifications and, unfortunately, makes it so carriers can add their stuff. Sometimes it is good (wifi calling) but yes for AT&T phones the bloat is usually over the top compared to the others.

No it's not, dont give me the car dealer example. Car dealer is not stamping or itching a logo on the car that can't be removed. Verizon or AT&T is not manufacturing the phone so no reason they should be stamping their logo on the product. Sure put a sticker or something that one can remove if they don't like. All they are doing is put a bunch of crap pre loaded and minor modifications on the phone that OEMs do on behalf of carrier. It's not like Verizon has forked Android and have their own version. Sure make your own hardware and stamp whatever you want on that.

I get that it's marketing and they market/sell the phone but that doesn't justify it. Sure answer is if you don't like buy something else. That's cool because I do that exactly.
It is a sticker... You can remove the glass back and peel off the sticker and replace it with what you want... Though I wouldn't recommend this unless you are technically inclined.

The car dealer analogy is inaccurate because they just sell the car, you can go to any other dealer to service the car afterwards.

For cell phones people buy Verizon phone for verizon service, and they provide a lot more than just selling the cell phone (car).

I'm in the "if you hate the carrier branding, find a new carrier" camp.

I like the Verizon brand on the back, that lets everybody know I have the best carrier.
I wouldn't remove the bar and shield from my Harley
