Carrying your phone

I am about to give up and get a Man purse...Leatherman, Keys, bulging wallet, phone, and sometimes change...I actually look forward to colder weather and jackets with zippered pockets, so I can keep everything out of my pants pockets...

I'm right handed, but always keep my phone in my front left pocket. I used to keep a chapstick in with it (when I had an older phone), but it marked my screen protector. So I've been keeping it in my right front pocket with key fob, knife, change. Sometimes my wallet if I don't have cargo pants/shorts on.

Funny how we have a method to our carrying madness.

Still can't believe how many of you carry knives around! Word of warning, if you come to visit the UK please leave those knives behind!

Some may need to carry a pocket knife for work. Varies from state to state but in California it's legal to carry a concealed pocket/ folding knife as long as it's in the folded position. Switchblades are illegal in most situations and hidden knives like lipstick and belt knives are illegal. There's more restrictions for carrying knives in public buildings and schools.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't carry a pocket knife.

Phone in right hip pocket, screen out. Nothing else ever goes in that pocket. Wallet, business card holder, keys, chapstick in left hip pocket. Real knife clipped into back right pocket. Small folding razor blade utility knife clipped into back left pocket. Tourniquet in cargo/spare pocket if the pants have one.

Hehehe!! Over here we have too many people being stabbed nearly every day so it is illegal to carry any form of blade in public. Like literally illegal. The police have the power to stop and search anyone and if you are carrying a knife you can be prosecuted and even jailed.

So... It's working? :D

Don't get me started on English weapons laws. Love the UK, have spent a lot of time there, but...

I didn't mention the gun and spare magazine I also carry, but those aren't in pockets and weren't relevant to the phone part.

I think i may play around with carrying phone screen towards body, so i can unlock with fingerprint on the way out of the pocket. Any issues with this?

No issues with screen in here.

Wow you guys carrying around knives!! In the UK that is an offence and you can be arrested for having a knife on you at all.

I was VERY aware of that when we visited the UK a few weeks ago! I had a note on my nightstand that said, LEAVE KNIFE AT HOME. I use it to open packages, envelopes - just utility stuff like that. It's a little bitty pocket knife that, I'm aware, would be highly illegal in the UK!

I always have my phone with screen head down and facing into my leg. As I reach into my pocket my finger goes straight to the fingerprint reader - the phone is on and unlocked before it is even out of my pocket. Beat that for speed, iPhoneX!

Did you enjoy your trip though? We have had some beautiful weather this summer. Hot and summery.

Never in a front pocket on account of not wanting to fry my bits, usually in either one of my back pockets, inside jacket if worn or lower pocket if I am wearing shorts.

Being serious the biggest difference between the 2XL or an S8/9+, note sized phone and say the standard pixel, S8/9 or an iPhone X is how much more comfortable the latter are to carry in any pocket vs the former. In use I prefer the slightly larger but to carry the smaller footprint is just so much nicer unless you rock a handbag or manbag.

P.S. Cannot think of any every day situation that would require me to carry a knife outside the house

We loved it! Although...the heat was oppressive and horrid the day we arrived and the next day - thunderstorms that second evening broke the heat, though and the rest of the trip was lovely! We rented a van for the family and I got to learn to drive on the wrong side of the road...down tiny country lanes and in crowded streets in town (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, BATH!). It was a lovely trip - we can't wait to get back!

Bath is very quaint. Glad you had fun. I live in Derbyshire near the Peak District. Breathtaking views, quiet life, clean air. Love it.

Wow, I'm surprised how many people keep it in their left front pocket. Those of you that keep it left pocket are you also left handed? I keep mine in my right front pocket, left front is wallet, keys, beard stuff. Back pockets stay empty.

I'm right handed, but keep my phone in my left front pocket. I always hold it in my left hand and touch the screen with my right hand.

Makes sense. I more often than not just give my phone a quick glance so I unlock as I pull from my pocket, check the notifications then lock it and slip it back in my pocket. If I tried that with my right hand I'd probably end up accidentally heaving it across the room... Lol

Beard stuff?
