Cases and screen protectors?

There's a big thread over at xda about the aluminum bumpers for the GS III...and they all say that it has not hurt any signals or functions! (No ugly holes in the corner either!) ;)

Link? That would be awesome of so.
I would definitely pick up one in gunmetal or fire red

is it a rubbery plastic or a hard plastic? I would consider this depending on the 'absorbtion of impact' properties (say, from a drop).

I would like to know the same. It looks like the top and bottom of the case is open. Not sure how much protection that would offer in the event of a drop though...

Seidio has surface cases available, in colors. Active cases expected tomorrow.

20% discount code for 6/27 & 6/28 is

The black Active case just went live a few minutes ago for preorder and the coupon code can be used. Saved me $10 on the Active combo.

Getting the surface case. Three active case is 1. Ugly. 2. It's 2.2 mm Thick. 3. And grip spots for your finger? (Biggest turnoff ever). I an probably over reacting but I'm not feeling the active case this time.

You know, I'm going to have to agree with you unfortunately! I was looking forward to the active X case but its looking BULKIER than the Otterbox defender case which looks better to me! Looks like Otterbox will be getting my money for now.

I just took a look again at the otterbox defender and it looks just as bulky as the seidio active x. This isn't going to be easy, lol!

That's exactly why I am going with the Surface/convert combo. Surface is plenty for most circumstances. Convert when you really need the extra protection. Convert is not available yet, but it can be added later.

I'd like to see what the convert looks like!

I'm considering the commuter now! Its between the commuter and the seidio convert for now. I want to see what the convert looks like though first.

Wait, what? I was asking because the Commuter is smaller than the Defender and is comparable to the Active. The Convert it is more comparable to the Defender in bulk.

While I've never had a Seidio case, I've always thought the Actives look pretty good and was planning on getting a white one for the S3. I did quite a bit of research on comparing the two brands and found that most people that have had both preferred the Otterbox and thought they were better quality. I had a Commuter on an older phone and one thing I've noticed with Otterboxes new releases are they are seemingly even better quality than before. The silicone is sturdier, less rubbery, and doesn't attract lint. They are generally slimmer and fit snugger from what I have seen as well.

I'm sure the Convert is a good case, but I'm guessing everything it does the Defender does better, unless you do NOT want a built in screen protector, or are really against the idea of the silicone being on the outside. Sorry for the rant, just thought I'd give you some advice since I'm still contemplating which case to get as well.

+1. The surface is more than protective enough for most people. Unless you work in an environment where your phone takes a beating or you are constantly dropping your device, the Surface should work well.

Ordered the Surface combo this morning! Hopefully will get it by July 4th!
