Cases and screen protectors?

yea, i just thought they were fake at first (the otter's), since they were trying to tell me they were fake..but still, doesn't make my decision any easier!

any suggestions between those 3? I have an otterbox defender for my Droid X, and I liked it, but just seeing how the other 2 are. Same bulkiness?
I have trident aegis right now on my current phone because that was only one available for my phone and love it... I like that silicone is first layer causes no rubbing damage.... Been very happy with trident.... Leaning toward kraken when I get s3 for the kickstand.

Ahhh. Everytime I make my mind up about a case someone changes my mind! Of the surface is the same material/design for this one then I wont be getting it

Believe me when I tell you that I LOVE Seidio cases for its style, look and protection BUT this scratching/pitting is something that they need to resolve!! I'm just letting you guys know what is going on since I wouldn't want any of you guys to go through this with your brand spankin new SGS3! So, purchase it at your own risk!

Any holsters (for when it's need at work) that will work with the Otterbox commuter? I used a Commuter on my BB and then an old BB holster - worked like a charm. I'm kinda iffy not about the Seidio Surface case now that I've seen the pics......but surely the damage can't be considered "normal" as I haven't read about issues like this.

Ideas?

You probably haven't read any issues because most people don't take off the case when they move on to their next phones so they never notice it. I'm willing to bet ANYONE here in this community who has an Epic 4G with a Seidio active X case on it, take off the case and look at the edges of your phone. I willing to bet that you will see exactly what you guys see in my pictures!

Or another suggestion for a case with a belt clip (for when I walk around the office sans purse)? I use the VZ holster for my DX2 now and it's ok ...

Zagg screen protectors at best buy are pricey but they stick like glue and are tough as nails. The reason why 1 cost 21.99 is it will be the only one you have to purchase for the phone.

Sorry, I just think that they are wayyyy over priced!! They should be throwing in a case for that amount!

I also believe that this is not a once off incident. Like I said before 3 phones all have the exact same issue. I believe the problem occurs because the phone has some gaps in the contour. There is a felt lining on some of the inside of the case but not all. This may actually be part of the problem as the felt holds the case away from the phone allowing dust and dirt to collect at the bottom of the phone and in the corners. Believe me, I clean my phone on a regular basis too. I work in a clean room environment too so I am not exactly being tough on it. If the plastic was to have some sort of rubber coating or even the felt throughout the case to better contour the phone it would make a huge difference. Great case for protection and looks, but in the end if it is just going to look like you were playing street hockey with it is it really worth it!

Had Zagg put on my current phone by BB. Took it off after a year. One thing I noticed is I'd often have to touch an image several times to get it to react. No problem since I removed the Zagg. Going with Nano for the SG3. Cheaper and better and made specifically for the curves of the SG3.

Does that work nice? It looks like a nice quality case and I want to be understandably carefully with my future baby. (Verizon user so I haven't got mine yet)

Oh, that's nice. My DX holster from VZ is hard plastic. I would prefer TPU. Also, it didn't occur to me until now that I can shop all the carriers stores in person for accessories this time around - guess we'll hit the mall after the phones get here! :D

That's my point.....is this "damage" simply prevalent to the Epic 4G? I sure haven't read anything bad about Seidio and Blackberry devices.

Was not going to get a cover for my SIII, then dropped it on the kitchen granite this morning (trying to multi task making coffee and texting at the same time!!). No scratched though, now searching for a cover...:D

I had the same issue with my Blackberry Storm, HTC Incredible, and the HTC Thunderbolt. All exactly the same "damage". The Blackberry was even a different style from the new Surface cases as it snapped together over the case vs. sliding over it. Same pitting around corners and sides of phone.

I think it could be fixed fairly easily if they wanted too. Also it is BS that Seidio says they haven't seen it. The ABS plastic they use is much harder than the plastics used in phones so if there is debris in between it is bound to dig into the phone.

They either need to seal the phone better around the case to prevent debris from getting in or line the case with something softer than the phone!

Perhaps simply for the Epic 4G but ultrav23 seems to have had the same problem with his other phones as well! And to be clear here, I believe its due to the top piece of the case that goes around the screen not having some type of soft protection like ultrav23 said. With dirt/grime under there and the gap between the edge of the phone and the contours of the case, dings/scatches/pitting is bound to happen. It may be possible this won't occur with the cases for the SGS3 but the you never know.

I think im gonna wait til Late July or August and see what the reviews are like for the Trident cases and how people like them..

Is the thickness or bulkiness the same or more compared to the Otterbox Defender?
