Cases and screen protectors?

I had an Otterbox Commuter on order, but canceled it. Instead I got a white and black Acase Superleggera Pro from Amazon. I like it a lot and the power button is covered but pushes easier than the cheap case I had on before. Also using the Rearth Ringbo ultimate clear plus screen protector. Can't tell it is on there by looking at it. It is a little grippy, but am noticing it is starting to smooth up. Only complaint is that when I put the first one on crooked I waited a couple of minutes to try to fix it and I had to really pick at it to get it off, which messed up the protector. So, instead of having a backup (it comes with 2), it is on the phone.

The problem with screen protectors that come with cases is that they are afterthoughts. They would not include them if they impacted profit by too much.

Typically the cheapest you can put in a case package is .20 to the company. To get a better quality one you're talking .30 to .40 including the screen protector, the cloth, and whatever else is in there.

For that price you are getting something that feels like plastic, impairs the colors, and won't last long.

I decided not to include one with the case and instead sell something top of the line.

I've purchased expensive ones in the past and hated them ($15). So I've been trying since December to find one good enough to sell. I have and it's perfectly clear, smoother than glass, and is impact resistant. That is opposed to scratch resistant only. So if the protector is on and you drop it having impact resistant protection increases your chances the glass won't break.

Just got an email from ZAGG.com they are doing another buy one get one free deal! they also have a new HD protector for the S3. Im wondering how good they are compared to the Steinheil Ultra Nano Clear im using now.

Definitely a difference in the feel I had zagg on my infuse could feel difference right away other than that the same... Best buy has them also wish they would match zagg.

hey guys, does anyone have a recommendation for a case that might not fully come up over the top edge and interfere with a screen protector?

My wife got the Moshi iVisor screen protector for her iPhone after the Zagg she had lasted a month and started coming up in the corner. I thought it was pretty cool that you could remove and re-apply as necessary so I got one for my GS3.

I also just got the Androidified case at Amazon and really like it, but because the case comes up and over the top of the phone, its messing with the faily-easily-removed screen protector.

Looking for something that's not bulky at all.

ZAGG Blech. Next week I should have mine - 20% smoother than Glass, Much less light distortion, impact resistant which ZAGG doesn't even claim, they last way longer than ZAGG(over 20 times as long). ZAGG is more scratch resistant but at the cost of all of the above. Far more clear, far more smooth, and if you drop it far more likely it won't crack.

Do post the link once it's available. You described my perfect screen protector.

AT&T then sells em for $35 but Ballistic probably only gets a few bucks. That's why I wouldn't buy Ballistic - you can go to ebay and search for Galaxy S III cases and you will probably find the same case for much less. (without the stamp).

I'm waiting for the Otterbox Defender to show up in my local stores. Until then, I picked up one of those "Ballistic" cases. It's not what I want and it doesn't appear to be the best thing around, but it's good enough to carry over until I can get the more substantial case.

Anyway, it got it at Sam's Club. Rather than the $35 at a phone store, Sam's carries it at $25. I figure I lose at least $25 a month on junk spending, so to drop it for a tide-over case to cover the phone for a month or two is okay.

SSHGuru: What do you think about the Tech21 cases? And does the screen protector company you mentioned make any Nexus 7 protectors?
Hope your dad gets better soon..

Never heard of Tech 21. I looked at their site and it looks like they intend to compete with Otterbox.

My protection model will be thinner and protect as much as three layers.

As far as screen protectors, yes we'll have them for the S III, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, IPhone 4, IPad 3.

I can have them cut for any phone but I'm sticking to the big ones for stock.

Post a picture of the Ballistic and I can probably find the same case for you on ebay for less.

Just received this case off ebay.

The case is a plastic (polycarbonate) bumper with a plastic backplate that sits under it. Under the backplate is an indented card holder which fits one card. The bumper clips around the frame.

Pros:
- Concealed card holder is a great feature
- All edges of the phone are covered as well as the backplate
- Raised edges around the entire screen holds it off flat surfaces when face down
- Buttons all fully accessible - not restricted in any way
- Perfect fit, easy installation, clip is very firm
- Very thin

Cons:
- Black plastic backplate is very susceptible to smudges/fingerprints. Minor issue really.

This is the first case I've owned for my s3 (and come to think of it the first case worth more than $2 I've ever owned) but I love it. It adds minimal bulk to the phone but provides enough of a frame to stop you accidently pressing the side buttons when youre holding it.

It sits really nicely in your hand too and is nice and grippy.

I've noticed amazon's far more popular around here but ebays the only place I can get free shipping internationally

hey, do you find yourself using the card holder? i dont' know how much i'd use it, it's not quick draw, know what i mean?
also, does the hook come undone easily? like accidentally?

Otterbox is making so much money they will have new packaging - instead of a tab to hang on the shelves they are using a long cool chain.

Personally I don't like them but I know alot of people who have them including my brother (which makes no sense since he never does anything physical).

My protective case will be less bulk more protection.

It is all protection have u seen it in action upclose my friend took her htc evo 4G LTE in an otterbox and threw it down tha hall no damage at all. Im sold slready got mine preordered from AC
