Cases and screen protectors?

I will be waiting for the commuter atomic otterbox case. After watching videos on youtube about the otterbox commuter for the htc one x, I think that the s3 case will look very good and not be to bulky.

Hey guys just some advice, any kind of metal is going to cause interference so be careful with the metalized coves and bumpers. My friend got the metal back cover and his signal was no longer working (he lost about 30db) so basically I wouldn't do anything with any kind of alloy over the device. They have a nice clear plastic cover/ black bumper one that I use that I got off amazon, its pretty nice. Here's the link...

The one you linked to has no hole for the microphone or noise-cancelling microphone.

I purchased the silver bumper case from this seller: New Sliver Aluminum Metal Bumper Case W/Mic Hole For Samsung Galaxy S3 III i9300 | eBay

He also has a blue version: New Blue Aluminium Metal Screwless Bumper Case For Samsung Galaxy S3 S III i9300 | eBay

This is the one case that i favorited; i like the look and how it's not bulky. Plus, it's raised front and back which is what i like -- would protect against sliding on surfaces. I also want to see what material the little black pieces on the inside of the case feel like (are they rubbery? foamy? impact absorbing?) If none -- it's a pointless case against drops.

and this is the one concern i have about buying an aluminium bumper case. I may wait to see how this case affects it...a few of my friends have the Vapor ones on their Iphones and they don't have a problem. I think it varies phone to phone depending where the antenna is.

I dont know about that - what if the battery door doesn't go back on? If you put a thin protector over it then you dont risk that.

SSHGuru... I see you are the case expert here, and I dont remember seeing what case you are getting.:p I know you plan on making your own but what will you be using until yours is complete? And what case do you recommend that will prevent my screen from cracking when I drop it, yet still be pretty slim?

When I am home I use the RInke Slim in Matte Black. I love the way it feels and it hugs the phone just right. It doesn't protect the sides enough however but it's my favorite for now.

If I go out somewhere where I may drop it I use my Mesh Combo Cases that I have for sale. Since I have all the colors I switch them around alot.

My site just went live - feedback and problems are welcome - even compliments :)

If you didn't want to add the bulk of adding a case and since the battery door covers the entire back and sides of the phone would just changing the battery door to something less prone to show scratches be an alternative? Such as this carbon fiber back? May not protect from drops but at least easy to change if the case acquires scratches.

I really like that. I'm ordering one.

The Ringke case isnt that bad I think I want to cover the sides up though.

And Sites nice, the Guide was pretty helpful, I like the mesh case, will probably get it for the GS3... A+ :D

I have to edit the guide a little bit but since no one had written one I wrote it about a month ago.

I need website testers to sign up, log in and test everything. Let me know if it says anything is insecure. Or buggy. Or suggestions. I am starting to test it myself now.

As far as the Mesh cases for the S III, I don't know if we will carry them. We will have our own combo case that will be much better.

I settled with this one to start. I prefer cases made by Samsung

It's good you found something you like. However Samsung doesn't make any cases - they hire fairly well known companies to do it.

Yeah I kinda figured that, but it's as close to official as it gets ;)

... also I hate when other companies plaster their name on cases. It draws attention away from the device itself.

True. I have a Verizon TPU case I paid $25 for in December. Total rip off. However it fit perfectly.

Now it's too thick and ugly for me. I'm spoiled.

Rearth makes some for Samsung.

yea im waitin on a otter box also

Otterbox is making so much money they will have new packaging - instead of a tab to hang on the shelves they are using a long cool chain.

Personally I don't like them but I know alot of people who have them including my brother (which makes no sense since he never does anything physical).

My protective case will be less bulk more protection.

Thanks for posting this. I already bought a pouch but am thinking of getting a bumper or very thin case like this. Question: Is the edge higher than the screen surface to protect the front side if it lands face down? I ordered screen protector, but it only covers the screen, not the rest of the front.
