Cases for the HTC One

I missed having a case with a belt clip so after getting the Speck Gem Shell, I picked up this Eddie Bauer case at Best Buy.
It was very snug but I'm stretching out the sides and it's getting easier to get the One out.

I got my double dip hard shell case for $15. It pays to know someone who works at Sprint :) Loving it so far. This case is definitely worth the purchase. To whoever said it peels, and whoever said it is loose. I am not too sure what you guys do with the case in your spare time. Neither statement is true here.

Here are some shots of the Hyperion "Smoke" Case I like that you can still see the HTC logo through the back, but it isnt fully clear. Also, I like that there are no branding logos on it so I'm not advertising some case company. Gives you some protection while still allowing it to have that aluminum look. I like it. The volume buttons are a bit tough to press. Everything else is open including the IR blaster.

Well, I went on the case hunt today. I had a drop Saturday night that caused some damage and wanted to hide it and prevent more damage in the future. I tried on the Otterbox Commuter and Defender, Incipio Dualpro Shine, Candyshell Grip, Candyshell, Platinum series kickstand, Rocketfish Hard cover, and the HTC Double Dip. My favorites were the Candyshell and the Double dip. I got the Double Dip because the power button is easier to push than the Candyshell, it was thinner than the Candyshell, and it was $5 cheaper than the Candyshell. I was originally not even considering the Double Dip because it looks terrible in pictures, but in person it actually looks pretty good! I will probably get a Candyshell too if they release more color options. I like the White/Black combo, but I'd love a red with white or black accents. I HATED the Dualpro because the power button is a total PITA to push in it. The Defender and Commuter are; 1. too expensive and 2. too thick. Didn't like the lump for the kickstand or the black being the only color for the Platinum series. And finally, the rocketfish is cheap, thin plastic that would be a great thin case for $5-10, but is a complete ripoff at $25.

Yeah! Another hyperion case user! I love my frosted one, have no issues with it. USB port is readily accessible for charging, no problems reaching the power button (even with the funny depressed version). Are you using the screen protector it comes with as well?

I second this, I am using this case and quite like it, the look of the phone shines through, blocks nothing and it fits snugly. And for under $10 you can't beat it.

I also have this case and really like the look and feel. But coming from a generally case free background I do find myself wondering how much protection this thing will offer in the face of disaster. Seems like if it was softer it would absorb more potential shock.

No, I am not using the screen protector with this. Are you? I just love the feel of the glass. There is no way I'm covering that.

Received my bumper case by Cimo. Pretty slim. Little bulk. Clear plastic back so the aluminum still shines. And NFC tags work without a problem. Best $9 I've spent!

I'm using it, and it seems to be fine for me. I keep my phone in the same pocket as my keys or another phone, so I'm slightly afraid of scratching it without the screen protector.

Been a week with the Double Dip Flip and have not had an issue with color bleeding onto the phone, cover does great and nfc tags work through the case.

The TPU seems has good shock absorption! I had a TPU case on my previous phone, and it survived a few drops with no harm at all, so I think this one will offer sufficient protection.

If your looking for both protection and style then i think the dualpro by incipio is a great case, It adds little bulk , offers pretty good protection and is pretty damn sleek looking :) I really like it anyway, It kinda offers the protection of an otterbox commuter without as much bulk and looks far sexier imo :)

I bought the Seido, good case and provides protection. I use belt holsters so this is a good one for me.

558 posts about putting plastic cases on an aluminum phone. Ironic. The majority of HTC fans I spoke to HATE plastic with a passion. Now the most popular thread in the HTC One forum is about cases to cover up that beautiful aluminum. Interesting. I want the One, but I don't think I could put a case on it.

Id rather cover aluminum in plastic then plastic in more plastic :)

Does anyone have a black HTC One with the glacier or steel blue otterbox commuter case? If any of you do, would you mind posting them?
I was just wondering how they would look.

Did you copy and paste that from iMore? Seriously? The great thing about the aluminum, is how it looks. So you cover that up with plastic, and you eliminate that look. If it's just a mental thing so you can tell people your phone is aluminum, then that's fine. I've finally got an HTC fan to be honest about why they REALLY like the HTC One. It has nothing to do with a "premium feel" or build quality, because it gets covered in plastic either way. It also has nothing to do with capabilities because quite honestly, the S4 has more of a software focus to it (Even though I'd rather buy the HTC One between the 2).

I actually very much appreciate this thread. Because it reminds all of us that HTC consumers DO have brains, and they aren't so stupid as to think the One is more durable than most any other phone. Cases still draw tons of attention. If you all truly felt the One was as durable as a lot of you said in other forums, this thread would be much smaller.

So I ordered a Spigen "HTC One Case Ultra Thin Air" case on Thursday, and haven't gotten an email saying that it has been shipped. Couldn't sift through this entire thread to see if it's back ordered or something to that extent. Could anyone verify if they have gotten this case in a relatively timely manor?

All this talk, for what purpose?

I bought a clear Cimo TPU case off Amazon for $7. It adds very little bulk but does provide some drop protection unlike hard cases. It keeps the exact shape of the phone and does have grip on the sides so it won't slip out of your hand. It suits me perfect for day to day but I'll probably buy a Seidio or Otterbox to have when I need extra protection from time to time.

I'd be careful of the HTC flip case as it does not offer a secure grip of the phone and the flap does not close properly due to the absence of a fastener. I've just got the Otterbox Commuter in glacier white, which looks really good with the silver HTC One and offers excellent protection.
