Not sure why anyone would cover up a gorgeous HTC one with a huge piece of purple rubber. Those cases take away from the beauty of the phone and add a lot of bulk.I'm not sure why they are popular.
A nice selection of cases. How do you find the Poetic Atmosphere? I've had mine for 4 weeks and the trim is beginning to peel away slightly.

I know what you mean, but it's worth protecting and the camera lens is too exposed to scratching for my liking.

Does your orange and red htc case c840 leave a mark on the back of your device? I have one in the box new and been reading some issues with the discontinued c840 cases. Thanks for any input.

Thank you. I began to like poetic atmosphere after having it on my iphone & s4 but i may say that the fit is better on those two than on my One.. i really dont know why. There seems a squeking sound everytime i grip on it unlike on my other two phones thats vert sturdy with the poetic. Theres another revision for the htc one poetic atmosphere because of the peeling issue. They will replace it for free & if it still the same, they will replace it with their different line. Check their site maybe you can have yours replace.. just been using mine for a week so no peeling issues yet.

What kind of marks? For the orange/red color combo.. i was told that its limited edition.. & for the red/gray/black i can still see many resellers having it.. so i dont think its really discontinued. I have used the red/gray/black for a week & it easily got darken on the red top side.. looks dirty with a closer inspection.. to think that i never put it anywhere that dirty. For the orange/red i seems that the back part is the one that easily gets darken.. especially the htc logo part. But hey, its still one of the best cases i have for the One.. slim & not with the plastic feel plus it really looks great so ill continue using it.

I pre-ordered the Genuine HTC One Double Dip Hard Shell - HC C840 - Black / Grey / Black back on 5/13/2013. Got an email saying they expected arrival of the cases several weeks ago, followed by an email several days later saying there is an unknown arrival date.Been waiting nearly a month for this now:

I'm protecting my HTC One with Otterbox defender. I found that the Glacier color (grey+white) does match the silver One surprisingly well.
To get things straight and simple :
(1)Protection : It will protect my One from any style of drop on a flat surface. I removed the built-in screen protector and putting other screen protector on my One. I do believe that the 5mm tall lip of the case surrounding the screen will protect it, except on hard grossly rough rocky not flat surface. Plus, the audio jack and micro usb port on the One are covered from dirt and dusts.
(2)Bulkiness : It's subjective from person to person. For me, the bulkiness of the defender helps me to hold my One comfortably and with confidence that it will not slip off from my hand (the outer rubber of the defender enhances this). Take note that i'm already used to have rugged cases on my previous phones and my hands are small.
(3)Cons : A bit hard and time taking to open and reinstall the case if you need to change the sim card.

There are so many cased recommended, what are the top 5? I'm looking for something that will be transparent and durable and another case to provide extra protection (not massive).

Got my replacement Poetic Atmosphere after the edges peeled away. Great having the 3 year warranty but I really hope they've improved it so I don't need to keep getting a replacement every two months.

Personally I'm a big fan of Cruzerlite for the thin TPU cases (several options including transparent) and for more protection Urban Armor Gear. Both are well made, durable and precise fit. I use both on my phones. After trying many different cases these are the two I have settled on.

The marks I have read is on the phones back itself. Thanks for your input I love the orange and red combo will use it to showcase my one to others.

Because not everyone uses their phone as a fashion accessory.
My phone is a tool that gets used and abused every day, and above all it needs to be protected. I don't care how pretty my phone is, it does me absolutely no good if its broken.
My One is protected by the Realtree Camo Otterbox Defender.
If Ballistic made their HC case for the One, I'd probably be using that instead.

I had this case until my dog chewed it up...with my phone inside of it. Case was ruined but the phone was safe and not harmed. Good luck to all these people with these "ultra-thin-make-my-phone-a-cute-accessory" cases. Cases are meant for protection in my book, and I want something I know will protect my phone.
We have all kinds of people in this thread-. Im in the construction type field and need Phone Protection. If i were sitting behind a desk I would not.
Had a poetic atmosphere but after seeing so many people who had broken their phones using it I got an Otterbox Commuter. Like it a lot.
