I ordered Spigen's Ultra Hybrid Google Pixel XL case.

The Spigen I ordered adds very little bulk. I have used similar cases before.

I like it too, reminds me of the Nexus case I have on my 6p. I'm concerned that it might be too thick and bulky though. I also wish they wouldn't have put that "Incipio" band along the bottom.

I emailed Spigen support regarding a case with a stand. At this time, support didn't know of any planned case with stand. Instead they directed me to this:

It looks better than most stands, but does stick off the back, which means the phone will never lie flat

Well they must be making one with a stand because now under the Google Pixel tab there is a picture of a Pixel in a case with a stand...though they do not have one for sale as of yet.

You're right! It's also possible support didn't even check with development, before telling me there were no plans.

I asked support to pass along my recommendation to development, they said they would.

I just happened to notice it after reading your post lol, and yes almost guarantee that support looked and went "nope not available no plans". Unless their system said different they just read the script.

We all look for different things with cases.

For me, I think the Pixel looks large, and any case I get needs to be minimalistic. Making the XL look any bigger can't be a good thing. So I just bought a minimal TPU case to have something to put in on Day 1, giving me some time to shop further. I bought this...

I really liked Spigen's case that I had with my Note 7 (RIP). This one for my black Pixel should do nicely. Some crazy folks have given reviews for this case already.

I agree with you.

I fully appreciate that people want to protect their phones, but for me, this phone does not need any reason to get/look any bigger.

They look cool, but looking at how thick they are on the edges looks pretty bulky. The bottom with all the ports for the speakers and charger looks like it could be quite uncomfortable when holding one handed. It could be the opposite however, might give you something to lock your fingers onto.
