Cases for the S6 active

Let me know how the i-blason is. That's one of the 2 cases I like the most.

It won't ship out until the 30th at the earliest. I wonder what the extra hole is for on all these cases next to the camera on the back. Obviously samsung sent out the design specs to case makers and then changed something.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that before. What could it be, a laser range finder perhaps?

Has anyone been able to find a bumper case? I just want a simple rubber case to go around the edges.

Depends on what you mean by simple. I just ordered this:

Case-Mate Tough Frame Bumper for Samsung Galaxy S6 active -- AT&T

The bumpers are a bit thick for my taste, I want something really minimal just to keep the edges from scratching, but at least it's not a full case. Plus, it's just $11 if you order online with free shipping, so I decided to give it a try. Mine should arrive tomorrow.

Sry, my previous phone is an Atrix (lost my S4), pictures won't show much. As for the bumper case, I don't think I'm gonna use it. It's very thick, feels in hand like I have a pretty hefty case on. I wanted a slim profile, or else I could've just gotten a real case.

Got the Supcase UnicornBeetle case for the S6A. Pretty mixed on how I feel. Case is nice but fits too loose and doesnt offer any protection for the front. The "lip" is basically even with the front. Wish the back was more clear instead of frosted. Other than that, it's nice.

Ordered the Evocel case this morning:

I have a dumb question... their is clearly a need/desire for cases judging on all the forum posts about it -- but, from someone on the fence about buying the S6Active or the G4, i am very surprised.

I thought the major selling point of the S6A is that it has that IP68 (or soemthing) ranking on water, dust, bumps, etc. The main idea being the phone wouldn't need a case is very durable as-is. So is the consensus that it isnt that durable afterall... hence all the people putting cases on it?

Because I want to keep my stuff looking brand new. If you drop it on concrete it will scuff, chip the outer casing.

My phone goes to the beach with me, and gets used. Sand on fingers will definitely scratch gorilla glass (at least gg1 or gg2, can't remember which it was). Just a screen protector for me, I don't like the added bulk of a case.

This, I always put my phone in a case, try to keep it as new looking as possible, for the resale value.

It's durable. More than any other phone. I just always put cases on my phones. Even though the S6A can take more abuse, it'll still show that abuse. Paint will chip/scratch etc like any other phone.

Right, screen always needs extra protection, and no matter how sturdy it can always get scuffs. I've personally also decided to just use a screen protector, as I don't think the extra bulk of even a bumper case is worth it.
