Is there a way to use Chromecast/Google Cast with an iPad when you don't have a Mac computer?

I read through Google's Chromecast support pages and various forums, but all I could find regarding i-devices was to download the Chromecast extension for Mac, then follow the other instructions. The problem is that I don't have a Mac. All of my PCs are Windows based. Am I out of luck or is there some way to do this?

Netflix and Youtube is built into the app, make sure you have the latest version for your iPad. For other items you are going to have to wait.

Thank you, I am aware of that, however, I am not able set up Chromecast on my iPad. I don't have a Mac, so I can't download Google Cast for Mac. Is anyone with a Windows PC able to set up casting on an iPad?

There's no need for you to set up Chromecast on your iPad as the only 2 currently Chromecast supported apps ( Netflix and YouTube) already have Chromecast functionality built in (assuming you have the latest versions of both apps installed on your iPad).

I think what Farish was trying to explain to you is that there is no way currently for iOS devices to cast from the Chrome browser due to the fact that the Chromecast extension is not yet available for the mobile versions of Chrome (this limitation applies to Android as well). Thus iOS and Android mobile device users will have to settle for casting only officially supported Chromecast apps (currently Netflix and YouTube) until Google makes the Chromecast extension available for mobile versions of the Chrome browser.

I'm sorry, I'm not explaining my issue well enough. I have the Chromecast extension installed in my Chrome browser on my Windows laptop. I also have Google Cast installed on my Android phone (Galaxy Nexus). I have no issues casting from YouTube from my Android phone, it works perfectly. However, I could not find Google Cast to download onto my iPad and I don't think it's available, is it? I have already tried opening YouTube on my iPad, but the casting option is not available. Chromecast does not see my iPad at all. Do I have to have a Mac computer in order for it to recognize my iPad?

Did you swipe from the left? It will then pop up. There isn't an icon.

Chromecast requires the versions of Youtube and Netflix apps that are only supported on iOS 6 or higher.

Good Point what iPad do you have? I have an iPad Mini(repackage iPad 2) and it works fine.

I have an iPad 3rd generation running iOS 6.1.3. My YouTube app is also the most recent version.

Someone else also mentioned swiping from the left...... if I swipe from the left, the YouTube menu appears showing account and channels. There's no "cast" icon or menu selection.

I have an iPad 3 and I did not have to hook it up to my Mac for it to work. A few days after my Chromecast was live, I noticed the cast icon appear at the top of my YouTube app. Make sure you have the latest version of the YouTube app.

IPad 2 and retina iPad, iPhone 5 used here. Chromecast needs to be powered on for the button to appear. And as others have said YouTube and Netflix only for now. I don't use Pandora so I don't know about that. As for the chromecast app, you don't need it, unless you can't setup from your laptop.
