casting icon for apps that display over other apps?

when I open an app that displays over other apps like twilight it shows the casting icon, I don't know for sure if it is actually the casting/smart view icon, because I never cast anything, but it looks like a tv screen with a wifi logo in the bottom left corner, and I think that's the casting icon, but to my knowledge i'm not casting anything. My note 8 also makes a notification sound whenever I open an app that displays over others, like whenever I turn on twilight it shows that icon that I think means it's casting and also makes a notification sound, and it's concerning because I don't want my phone to be casting, and I don't know why it would, am I missing something here, does that icon actually mean something else.

The icon doesn't mean you're casting, it means the video/app showing up has casting capabilities. If you tap it, then you get the options of where you can cast to.
