Does anyone have the zip for just the stock HTC music player I could use to flash to my phone, or know of a better/equal market one...Thanks...Also love this ROM...I've tried out quite a few and keep coming back...

the one thats built in with sense? if so, i think you're going to need sense for it, but i could definitely be wrong. I took all my music of my sd card to save space and stream it online now.

Hey guys.. with gumbo rom 1.5c will i have to do anything like unroot and go back to everything stock with the upcoming 2.1 update? If anyone could help me that would be great .. cause i want to go with the 2.1 till the nexus1 comes out. cause im getting rid of my hero in a few months for nexus unless the EVO is out then . thanks guys again. and as always love the roms your the greatest G

If you unroot and apply the Sprint 2.1 (when it comes out) you won't be able to root again using the same method.

You also won't be able to get the OTA 2.1 if you're using Gumbo 1.5c.

2 options -
roll back and unroot, then wait for the OTA
Use one of the 2.1 ROMS that are available and then wait for them to get updated when the OTA comes around.

Ok i need to know what is the best method of unrooting i mean there are a bunch of people having problems going back to stock . i need to know how to do it the right way without getting all the errors . cause i want to have this set up right for the guy buying my phone in two weeks. i was going to wait but i have a butt berry ill use till nexus one comes out. this guy already told me he does not want a rooted phone or custom rom. im in need of a real fix .

oh and my sd card went south and had to use a new sd card so i have nothing that came with the original phone. no back up or anything. and i found the original1.56 ruu and i am glad that i didn't go and try it it has been a nightmare for everyone. i hope that you know how to do it and help me cause i have no other option and im stuck. im way to scared to brick out my phone and be stuck with a $400 brick. i payed straight up for my phone $538 at best buy not more then 3 months ago.

The only way is to use the RUU if you no longer have your backup.
Try this one

And then update your software via the phone itself.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to try the 1.29.651.2 RUU that gives everyone problems.

OR

You can erase all the files in /system/ and go to sprint with a phone that wont boot, and they can run the official RUU in the store.

Hey thanks for the help but here is the problem mine never came with that 1.29.651.2 mine came with a google branded 1.56. and everyone seems to have had hit and miss. mine came out after the update . i got mine in December

I have had no problems with the rom at all . everything worked better then stock . rand everyone of the roms and had few troubles with them . this rom has been his best work.

Your phone either came with 1.29.651.1 or 1.29.651.2, the with Google on the back means very little. I have a with Google .1, a with Google .2 and a no with Google .2 here on my desk.

If your phone came with .2, the version I linked will not work. The only other alternative is the bugged .2 version

someone told me that if i had the original rom that came with the 1.5 stock even if i am rooted i can still get the update. is there anyway to get a hold of that and do i install it just like i do with yours . im not very good at stuff like this i just follow directions good and was able to root and load your custom roms. cause like i said im still gona be out of the rooted stuff unless they fin a way to root the nexus ot the evo cause that's where im headed soon.

Problem is the only way I know of to get the original 1.5 ROM is from the RUU, or if you have your backup. I did not keep a backup of stock, as I just use the RUU's whenever I need to roll back. Maybe someone else will chime in with a clean version of it for you.

Your awesome ROM is the first I've flashed actually

I'll have to do more testing, maybe it was just an isolated problem on the sender's end (I don't get many picture messages).

Check into it, and if it turns out to be an ongoing problem let me know. It all seems to work fine here, but you know how that goes

Hey gbhil i used flipz 1.56 and i said the hell with and just did it. and all the people having problems getting back to stock rom is more then likely cause of going to 2.1 and going back to stock 1.5 as of the anticipation of the new official 2.1 coming in the next year or two lol . but mine worked just great. and now i sold my hero and using my other hero i got for free in a bet lol i just installed the new sprint release candidate and im telling you its great. Thanks gbhil cant wait to play with your 2.1 roms soon.

I love Gumbo Bare!! The only downside is that it doesn't have a Music app. Everything else works beautifully and fast fast fast!!!
