Change from iPhone to Vivid or Skyrocket

I completely agree Bruce. I never buy extended warranties with one exception. My Roku box which cost $20 for 2 years. Since I had to replace the original one 7 mos after I got it, I figured it's a cheap way to go in the event this one goes South too :)

I recommended the insurance through Best Buy. It is 9.99 per month but they cover physical damage, water damage and anything else that might happen. There is no deductible and no hoops to jump through. It is much better than the carrier insurance through Asurion.

I have always had insurance for my phone and have had to use it multiple times. It has saved me money on more than one occasion.

I have a Vivid, had a skyrocket for 48 hours after changing from an EVO. I found the Samsung screen to be very low quality after the EVO (sorry samsung users) nad could not imagine continuing with it. AFter an iphone I would think you would find the same.

The notification flash on the Vivid is so weak it is useless. The screen is weak in bright light, but I'm a cave dweller so rarely notice.

True, there's always exceptions. I purchased an extended warranty on my DLP TV cuz it was a great deal and, with the cost and size of the set, it seemed to make sense (luckily haven't had to use it).

But I remember once buying a remote timer device for a D-VHS player at Radio Shack for 3 bucks. The clerk asked me if I wanted to buy an extended warranty for 10. I looked at him like he was brain dead. :-D

I switched from an iPhone 4 to the Vivid because I got bored with iOS, back when the Vivid first launched, and have been extremely happy. For what it's worth, though, I seem to be in the minority that likes Sense.

That said, the HTC One series comes out very soon, and might be worth waiting on.
