Changes made to build.prop revert back to stock after factory reset?

I have made some changes to the build.prop now but not so satisfied with this, so I want to revert those changes back to stock.
If I do a factory reset or wipes data and caches from the recovery, are those changes gonna revert back to default values? or do I need to flash the whole rom again?
