exactly also use voice recordings as notification sounds. hope someone can help

There are some apps that can shorten a full song to a ringtone style... in other words, a song that is shorten to about 20 seconds and would normally be not as high of a quality that you record at since it's coming through a smartphone speaker, like 92kbps instead of 320kbps... but you can use a full song if you want.

I created a Media folder on my sd card, then created a Ringtones folder under that... then just copy any of ringtones into that folder... disconnect your device from your PC, let it scan all the new ringtones, then change your settings.

ok but your talking about ringtones though, I've already done that using a website that I have used for years now with my BB. What i'm talking about it changing the notifications noises because the ringtones and notification noises are different. I want to use those 20 second bits of songs as my notification noises.

Create a folder called Media on the root of your SD card. In the Media folder make a folder called Audio. Then inside the Audio folder create three folders. One called alarms, one called notifications, and the last called ringtones. Then just put the ringers you want to use as notification sounds in the notifications folder. Then they'll be available to you when you go to change the sounds. Hope that helps.

ok now I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question but i'm new to Droid, when i connect my phone to the computer and put it on disk mode does that mean those folders that come up are the SD card or the main phone? One of the folders that is there is a media folder, is that the folder your telling me to put all this in? If i want to transfer over pictures too do i just create a pictures folder and put them in there?

The new drive you see is your SD Card. If you are just putting pictures on your SD card, then you can create a new folder under Media for those.

Yeah what fatboy97 said.

You can also put pictures in whatever folder you want and put it wherever you want. I have a folder called wallpaper on the root of my memory card and then inside that have some of the wallpapers sorted in other folders and the gallery just finds them.
