I've had the X Play for a few weeks, but I cannot find how to change the sync frequency for e-mail, both gmail and yahoo. In all previous phones nexus 4, G2 and G3 it's been simple process through Accounts. I assume I'm just being stupid and it's something simple, but could someone please advise how to do it. Thanks

Are they not push services in which case they don't sync at set intervals but run a push connection all the time. I don't think you can change any sync settings

I agree with Aldo. I'm not sure about Yahoo, but for Gmail accounts there's not such a setting. The only sync setting is how many days of mail you want to sync.

Many thanks for the replies. I didn't realise there were different ways of receiving emails and I was concerned that if it was constantly syncing it would have an adverse effect on battery life. I assume that push type email apps do not impact on battery usage too much?

No, they don't, don't worry. You can check in your battery stats how much Gmail is using.
