Charge Master

I just set my Note 5 on my charging stand a few minutes ago and a message came on the screen asking me to enable "Charge Master" so I can get live news feed while charging my phone. I haven't installed this app, and the message said "This function contains ads," and I was wondering if anyone else had this happen.

I had this pop up as well. I'm certain it's from me redownloading snapchat, as it said it contains ads.

I read somewhere that anything by Cheetah Mobile was not to be trusted. I'll see if I can find it and put up a link.

This happened to me today on my pixel phone and it was generated from an app called Photo Grid: Photo Collage Maker. It said "Enable Charge Master to prevent over charging!". Uninstalling the app removed the notification.

I thought the charge master pop-up was a new samsung feature, so I clicked enable. It took me to Photo Grid: Photo Collage Maker.

The same thing happened to me today after I added the app Photo Grid: Photo Collage Maker by Cheetah Mobile. I uninstalled it immediately!

If you long-press the notification, the app that sent it will be revealed. In my case, it was PhotoGrid.

You can also disable notifications for that one app (photogrid), and then not be subject to such ads.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! I had not installed anything new and began getting this message too (Galaxy S4). I also have PhotoGrid so I am going to check the settings on it and possibly delete it since I hardly use it anyway and this popup is very annoying.

Yep, this was the culprit for me. Bah.

Also found it was Photogrid - pain, as I like it. Any alternatives for Photogrid, as for me, disabling its notifications doesn't disable the Chargemaster stuff :(

[I have used Pixlr, but it's not got as many options for layouts etc]

In PhotoGrid, go to Settings (in the latest UI: 'user' icon at bottom right, then the three dots icon at top right), scroll down to the Charge Master section and tap it, then slide the Enabled switch to off. This prevented it popping up when I plug in my charger.

By the way, on the screen full of ads it pops up, there's a 'gear' icon top right, that also opens the Settings page where you can disable it.
