I think my charger is broken and I will order a new one online. In the meantime, is there anyway I can charge it via the micro usb

If you have any USB cords lying around then try charging via USB. It'll be a slow charge, but will get you through until the replacement is received.

Actually any phone charger with a microUSB plug should charge the battery just fine. Charging these days is pretty standardized. The charger puts out 5 volts. Lower current chargers take longer to fully charge the phone than higher current ones, but the phone will never (unless it's broken) draw more current than it's supposed to. So use the charger from another phone, borrow someone's charger, use a USB-to-microUSB cord to charge from a computer ... there are many options.
