Charging Port Revision

[Android Central Question]

My niece has an S4... no idea what model, but it is ver I337M.

She can't afford an upgrade so repairing it for her, however, when searching for charging ports I see that there is I337 ver1.1 and ver1.3.... same port for the same phone, but different versions.

Is there a way to tell which I need without pulling the phone apart first? From my understanding it's stamped on the board, but, bit of a pain to dismantle half the phone, get the version number, re-assemble the phone, then a week later when the part comes, dismantle it again.

Someone here may know, but have you tried searching through the technical gubbins on Samsung’s site? It may even be worth asking them.

Seems the only answer I can find is that its on the board itself, so have to dismantle, reassembled, wait for part and dismantle it again. :S

Next issue of course will be finding a non-fake battery. A lot of fake "genuine oem" batteries for sale it seems.
