First, the G3 is neither slow nor particularly fast to charge.
AnandTech | The LG G3 Review
"In this test, the LG G3 trails behind both the One (M8) and Galaxy S5 in charge time, although it's quite close to the One (M8). This is strange, especially because the LG G2 has the same battery size. However, this can be explained by the change to charging protocol, as it seems that the G3 doesn't support Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology. Instead, signalling is done over BC 1.2. As we'll see later in the article, this is due to the charger chip used." - from the article
^^^ That means that you probably won't see it charge at a faster rate when it's closer to dead.
Second, the reason a 2.4A charger could theoretically charge faster than 1.8A even though the phone might only pull 1.8A max is efficiency. The LG charger might only be, say, 90% efficient (I'm really just making the numbers up) which means it's not actually putting out 1.8A, more like ~1.62A. If you get a 2.4A charger that's capable of even 80% efficiency (again, making that number up) it'll put out realistic ~1.92A. That would mean that it could give the phone a bit more juice.
That being said, .18-.2A is not going to make the phone charge in half the time some of you are saying that it takes. If you're actively using the phone while charging there is a possibility that your phone won't charge at all depending on what you're doing. If you're plugging in it overnight for 5-6 hours and using the stock LG charger that came with the phone there's no reason it shouldn't be fully charged. Something is defective. If a new charger fixed it, than your charger is most likely defective.
I guess anandtech's review had a total charging time of 2.8 hours. Guess 4 hours while using it would be comparable. Guess people are exaggerating some with the "90 min" charge times.
I am not really sure what happened, but my G3 was at ~10% at midnight when I put it on the charger, and when I woke up at 6AM, it was only charged to 80% using the OEM charger.
I just rooted yesterday and installed Greenify, Lux, GSam Battery Monitor, and switched to Art. Not sure if one of those things caused my poor charging? Idk, I will try again tonight.
How so? I have read of people getting 20-40hr battery lifes with rooted G3 and some tweaks. I don't think everyone has slow charging issues just because they rooted...This is your problem I'm afraid.
My wife had a g3 for a week. It had a lot of other problems but charging wasn't one of them. It charged as quick as anything else we've ever owned. The charging speed was impressive, even when surfing while charging.I am charging my LG G3 from 4AM at 14% Battery Life got up at 8:30AM battery is on 57%!
Could anybody explain me why it takes so loooooong to charge a stupid battery? In this time my LG G2 was charged already while on the LG G3 I am not even half charged!
Is there a problem?
Anybody has a batter or faster charger?
Please help
P.s. Yes! I am using the charger it came with the G3/G2 (same 1.8Amp Charger)

I couldn't care less about anandtech's or any other person's conclusion about a mobile device. I'm just as able to come up with my own conclusions based on my own tests, which are much more valid than some dude on a website offering his own personal opinions from a single device he tested. His own personal tastes and biases play a part. I can charge a phone just like he can.First, the G3 is neither slow nor particularly fast to charge.

Your issue is either a bad root or something you installed. Also, its been know that ART messes with the G3. Not sure how well it works with root though. Try reflashing and starting all over again if anything.
Thanks, I used IORoot to root and everything seemed to go ok. I think I am going to switch back to Dalvik and see how that pans out

If people's devices are charging slowly, that means they're charging slowly. Out of a million devices coming off the assembly line, there are going to be variances in performance and build quality. Anandtech chose one that charges quickly. My wife did also. Obviously people purchased devices that charged slowly out of the box. Their concerns are valid.
Just got my G3 and wondered...does anyone else think it is really hard to put the charger into the device? Maybe I am just use to my S4 being "loose" but it just seems like its really tough connecting the charger...at first I thought I had it going in the wrong side up but I was wrong.
