i just had a thought.remember that speech at google i/o about companies being off raw costs and making an incredibly large profit. Then these words were spoken "i think phones that cost 50$ off contract is the future" was..was he talking about the x phone??

Good question, I ask myself the same question when I read a headline about these devices

I actually hadn't heard that before now. I think the problem with that is that people will see a $50 phone and assume, "oh, it's just a low end phone" then will proceed to buy the more expensive phone.

That's exactly the trap a lot of people fell into with the Nexus 4, 7 and 10. "It's cheap"... No, it's subsidized. BIG difference.

For real, not sure if this will change that many people's minds tho. I have a feeling most gamers will stand there ground and stay ps4 but I still will go xbox

It sounds like their compromise has it's own downsides. I'm not 100% clear on what they're doing, but the interweb still seems to be upset, albeit less so.

After being down for 30 hours, my internet is finally back up  and it's double the speed now (though at 5 Mbps it still isn't very impressive :p) :)

Thanks... AT&T? Netgear? Idk...
