Looking for a cheap tablet to watch Netflix on during quarintine. Only requirement is a good screen (prefer 1080p, is HDR10 available on cheaper devices?) and decent speakers. Would prefer a headphone jack. Any suggestions?
Would a cheap chrome book fulfill the same purpose?

Any of the recent Galaxy Tab A variants should be fine. Lenovo also makes pretty decent tablets for media consumption, with good screens and excellent sound -- try the M10 or P10. (I have an older Lenovo Tab 4 8", which I use every day.)

There's always the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets, which are dirt cheap and can certainly work as media tablets. But if you want a more fully-featured Android tablet, then I'd stay away from them.

A cheap Chromebook would work just fine as well, although some of the really cheap ones don't have particularly good screens. I'd suggest the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, but that's been sold out at Best Buy ever since it came out. Another thing about Chromebooks is that they'd generally be heavier and bulkier than a tablet.

Yes, I have a Kindle Fire HD 8" 32GB 1.5 G RAM that is quite nice for media consumption, has the 3.5 mm earphone jack, and set me back a whopping $60 new. I do miss some of the Google Play stuff, but I'm thinking about going through the process to install it.

Speakers are pretty nice, too, and I'm 3 years in and still getting updates, as well. Battery is starting to get a little shorter, but I just looked up the procedure to replace it, eventually. One thing I do like is that the charging port, jack, volume, and power buttons are all on one end, and since the screen will rotate 360°, I prefer the ports at the top, so I don't tend to drop it on the charging cord, leading to shorter cord life.

Agree w/B Diddy.

Lenovo makes solid budget tablets. I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime all the time on my Lenovo and it works great. Resolution is lower so don't expect UHD 4k picture.

I just purchased a Chromebook less than a month ago and am constantly using it for watching Netflix. While the screen isn't *the best* on the market, I love the Chromebook's portable size and it gets me by just fine. Also, the battery life is really great! It's an HP model with 2 GB of RAM. A little small for some, maybe (11.6"), but works for me! I got it for $279, I believe it was on sale.

Let us know what you decide! :)
