Chrome automatically selecting drop-down menu items

On certain websites, I'm finding that chrome will automatically select the first item in a drop down menu and go to that page. For example, on my banking website, if I select a drop-down menu and "Holdings" is the first item on that menu, I am forwarded to the Holdings page immediately; I have no time to select an item further down the drop-down list. Doesn't happen in Firefox or Dolphin. Thanks!

PS I'm on a Samsung Tab S 10.5, running lollipop
