Chrome browser really lags, what are you using?

Yes, Chrome is laggy and choppy when you're trying to scroll before it's finished loading long pages (like these Forums). Dolphin HD doesn't pinch-to-zoom on my Nexus either...side-loading the AOSP browser right now...

Update: The .apk linked earlier in this thread didn't work. Said that the app was not installed. :/

LOL, friggin' Dolphin just updated...........and will no longer let me use Flash. You can't even turn it back on. What a bunch of crap.

Yeah the old stock browser was just called 'browser'. Its much faster. Also the ICS APK isn't that great, if you look up fully Jellybean changekog, they made a tom of great improvements to then old browser in Jellybean. I would love the Jellybean APK.

And yeah Dolphin just updated this morning with Pinch to Zoom support on Jellybean and it works flawlessly. I'll probably keep using dolphin for now. Though I'll keep trying Chrome whenever it gets an update.

Any other good tablet browsers out there? I'm willing to try anything.

What I posted earlier is the jellybean browser apk :)

Yeah, they added pinch to zoom support, but took the Flash option away from us. Let ME make that choice. Don't make it for me

Fortunately, Boat Browser still lets me use Flash. I guess they don't suck :p

wouldn't mind the choice between stock and chrome but chrome does not seem laggy at all to me

You guys should try FireFox, works pretty good for me and you can still use Flash (I like Flash).

What I posted earlier is the jellybean browser apk :)

Yeah I downloaded it but I don't know how to install. Its a system app so I know you have to put n system>app folder and restart but that doesn't even work on my rooted galaxy nexus and it won't work on a stock unrooted nexus 7. Unless you got it working. Did you? If so, how?

Under security settings make sure you enable installation of apps from unknown sources. Then just download the install the apk. It won't be a system app, but it might not have to be, only one way to find out, lol. If it doesn't work, simply uninstall and you'd have to paste it to /system/app and reboot, which should work, I do it literally all the time on my Gnex.

I tried. That apk didn't even work. Just told me that it was unable to install after I hit "install" and let it do its thing.

That's odd.. Sorry I'll be experimenting soon as I get my tablet (hopefully today if I don't miss the UPS guy) and I will let you know how to get it done.

May just be a coincidence, but Chrome started working much better for me after I removed the bookmarks widget from one if my screens.

You have to side load it directly from Mozilla's website. You can get the phone version or the Aurora tablet version in Beta. There's a thread here that explains how you can enable flash as well.

LOL, I'm not seeing anywhere to sideload it from the website. Every link takes you directly to the play store. Dunno.

Edit: Nevermind. I think I've figured it out.

Yeah I can't the APK you posted working on the Nexus 7. I wish Google would update Chrome soon to have improved scrolling/pinch to zoom/response to touch. It truly is unfortunate. And if I may mirror what someone said earlier, it does work better on the Galaxy Nexus than it does on the Nexus 7, but, the stock Browser on Jellybean still works better than Chrome on both.

So I am using Dolphin, but I think it is an ugly browser and I don't like the way it renders text. But it is fast and super smooth. Any other browsers out there any good? Maxthon I think has too much going on on the Screen, and its not as smooth as Dolphin.

I agree, stock browser beats chrome by far.

Like I said I'll take a look tonight, but most likely you'll have to unlock/root so you can stick the apk in /system/app, if it refuses to work sideloaded.

I definitely prefer using the stock ICS browser over Chrome on my Galaxy Tab. Heck, it even syncs bookmarks with the desktop Chrome browser!

Was OK using Dolphin, but now I'll have to try to make sure I get a backup of it before it updates and doesn't allow Flash!
