Android Central Question

Hi all- We recently got WiFi in our new home and the chrome search widget doesn't work. I believe that it is a WiFi issue because chrome does not work on any of the home laptops (2 of them), but it ONLY AFFECTS CHROME. All other apps work fine. Firefox and explorer... and even Edge I'm sorry to say... works just fine. These apps on my phone, the wife's phone, and the 2 laptops work fine outside the home network. I thought I would try here first to see if there is some "basic" settings I can easily change. Next step is to call the internet provider, but they are so small they are typically not a ton of help with these types of issues.

The next step is to get someone locally to come to your house and find out where the problem is. The home internet connection shouldn't be content-monitoring, so Chrome should work the same as any other internet-accessing software. Does Chrome work at all? Is it just the search bar? Which search site is it set to use? Does it work if you set it to use a different search provider (say Google)? That's the sort of thing that has to be checked (including pings and traceroutes to the search servers) to determine if it's Chrome, the search engine, the internet connection or something else causing the problem. Until you find out what's wrong, you don't know what to fix.
