Chromecast Compatible Apps [10 apps added]

Re: Chromecast Compatible Apps [25Jul - Revision3,Qello,PostTV Coming Soon]

Can you use a AV receiver HDMI instead of connecting straight to TV? I would like to be able to listen to music through my speakers.

I have mine connected to AV receiver, which is then connected to my TV. It looks and sounds great.

Slacker better get on board ASAP or they will be losing me as a premium customer...

Tell that to them. Companies need to know about the demand for Chromecast support.

Windows 8 pc casting tabs from Chrome. I've had no problem doing Hulu Plus with audio and Amazon Prime with audio.

Re: Chromecast Compatible Apps [25Jul - Revision3,Qello,PostTV Coming Soon]

I've played around with my chromecast since yesterday. Here is my experience regarding desktop chrome casting and services like HBO go.

I have a pretty old dell PC (about 5 years old). 2 GB ram, quad core, win 7. It is connected to my Linksys wrt54g router (also pretty old) via Ethernet cable. I must say I'm impressed. While there might be minimal pixelation from time to time, the audio and resolution look pretty good to me. So far I haven't noticed any audio lag. The chromecast dongle does have a line of sight view to my router, so any performance issues people have reported must be due to network problems.

I can post a video if anyone wants proof.

Who thinks Plex would be an awesome app to add support for this?? That'd be the best thing ever..

Re: Chromecast Compatible Apps [23Jul - Play Music,Movies,Netflix,Hulu,Rdio,HBO GO]

Has anyone specifically tried streaming a video (TV or movie) from Amazon Prime?

I haven't been able to get Amazon Prime videos to stream. When using Chrome browser on my W8 machine I'm able to get the tab to show up on my TV but the video itself doesn't show up and neither does the audio. I have had luck with hulu.com and other sites so I'm not sure what the problem is with Amazon. Maybe it's something to do with the video player they use on their site.

The Flash Player Plugin in Chrome removed support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) in Linux as part of the upgrade from 11.3 to 11.4. This upgrade was bundled with the latest Chrome 22 update for Linux. If you applied the Chrome update, you are no longer able to watch DRM-protected content, such as movies and TV episodes. Trailers are unaffected as they do not use DRM. To get around this issue, you can use a different browser, such as Firefox.

I know you said you're using Win8, but perhaps the DRM has something to do with it.
