Chromecast hell

I just got 2 new google chromecast 4k.

Now I am stuck.

On the screen, it only asks a password after I chose my network but offers no keyboard!!!!

Initially google home on my phone saw it and asked for a QR.

Now home can't even detect it.

I tried to push and hold the button on the device, no luck. Manual is useless. I found nothing on the internet. This is so nonsense.

I put it aside for 3 weeks, it took a few reset trials with the button and it finally went through and it is detected by my phone. I think that the firmware update crashed initially - it just froze for a like 45m.
