Chromecast issue

I'm posting here because it seems to be related to my phone. An iPhone and 2 different s8's were casting to my chromecast no problem. But my note 5, after multiple power cycles and a cache wipe will not cast. I rebooted the chromecast as well.

If this should be in a chromecast thread please move it.

If I go to the Home app I see this

Where I would usually see my backdrop imagery.

Some apps have the Cc icon some don't. The ones that do try to connect then fail with a error message.

I've Googled this issue but doesn't seem to be widespread.

Have you also tried rebooting the router?

Router should be fine, other phones can connect.

In my experience (and from what I've seen in these forums), it's possible for a particular device to have difficulties connecting to a router while all other devices connect fine. Rebooting the router might resolve that. It's worth trying. (I'm talking about a simple reboot, i.e. unplugging its power for 10 seconds -- not a full factory reset of the router.)

Make sure your chromecast and phone are both using the exact same wifi channel
