I have 3 Chromecasts on different TV's. I'm only having trouble casting to one of them. It will work just fine a few times and then it won't connect and the tv don't automatically switch over to the Chromecast. I have cleared the cache and rebooted the home app and the Chromecast. The only thing that fixes it is to reboot my phone then it will work fine a few times then it will quit working again. I never had this problem on my s6,s7 and s8+. If I manually switch over to the Chromecast it is on showing the time and backdrop picture just like it should. This Chromecast is the newest version and the other two are older ones. The picture is what my home app shows and you can see which one isn't working even.though it says ready to cast. The only options that come up for that Chromecast is reboot. Selecting reboot makes the Chromecast disappear from the home app but it never actually reboots. This has to be an issue with the Note cuz I can cast just fine if I try with my other phones.

I was having problems too but then realised that in my home I have a regular WiFi and the 5G Wifi. I've never been able to tell the difference but one thing that changed when I got my Note8 is that the CHromecast does not automatically switch my WiFi to match the one the Chromecast is on like it did before. I have to manually switch it on my phone.

That could be it. How do you manually switch it?

just open Wifi settings on your phone and connect to the other one.

My wifi's are named Lemonparty and TheWiwillFi ... Chromcast is on TheWiwillFi ... my phone now defaults to lemonparty for some reason so I always have to change it for chromecast to work. On my Note 5 it just switched it automatically I think.

Hi,

Decrease resolution from Full HD to HD and then it will connect.

After it connects, to back to resolution and make it back to Full HD and it will still work.

I spent 4 days trying to find out how until it connected to chromcast.

Let me know if it work for you.
