Chromecast not recognised by everything.

The table show which apps, on which devices recognise the Chromecast on the network.....

The strange thing is that nothing BUT YouTube works on the Tablet. And YouTube casts fine from the Tablet. The App versions on the Tablet and Phone are identical. The Tablet is a rooted version of ICS (4.0.4). The phone is a Samsung G3 on 4.1.2.

I'm wondering if "rooted ICS" might not have something to do with it.....

My collapsed table would look mostly like Devlin16's except only YouTube works on the Tablet. I am also suspicious of the effect of "rooting" on the Tablet (Toshiba Thrive 16gig). The question is why does YouTube work and nothing else on the tablet. I would have thought they all would detect the Chromecast the same way?

I think its ICS. I have a Toshiba thrive with a version of the rooted ICS and I have aquired an acer a100 with a stock ICS for testing. Both have the same problems with Chromecast. The HBO apps is hit or miss. Google Play is hit or Miss but it never stays connected for long. I think its an ICS problem and one Google should address. I'll be moving the Toshiba Thrive to a jelly bean ROM and hopefully next moving to nexus 10.1 later this year.
