Citi app supports face unlock but indicates it's fingerprint authentication

This might be what we are in for with some apps during the transition to face unlock. I just went to set up my Citibank app and it asked me if I wanted to turn on fingerprint access so I did. Played with it. Everything on screen talks about a fingerprint but it's definitely using face unlock.

I assume they have the latest biometrics API but haven't updated the interface?

I have seen some apps on iOS as well say fingerprint on the interface but use face id. It's just the UI the app developers haven't changed but API will use the appropriate call.

We are fine as long as it works irrespective of what it says on the UI
