Clear Predictive Text

Okay, my phone ran an update early this month. Since then, I can no longer edit the predictive text! It can't remember my kids name. It keeps putting in junk words from when I would mess up. There is an option to get predictive words from my fb, but I do not want to do that. How do I clear out the junk with the new update? Can I add words like I use to be able to do?

long press a junk word on the suggestion bar and it gives the option to delete.

how to do get to the predictive text? Do I need to open the Text Message app or is there something in settings?
