Has anyone noticed the removable clear protective film around the sides/frame of the S22+? I didn’t realize it was there until cleaning up after my Whitestone install. You can feel it around the corners most. Much nicer w/it removed.

It's that way with the previous phones too...but yeah I forgot about it too when I installed my screen protector lol

I found out after I put on a case then took it off. a small piece started coming off. Never would have guessed.

I'm lazy . I didn't bother with taking it off. I just put my case over it and went about my business. Lol

I always leave it on, but this year it was peeling off one side so I said why not... I admit, the frame on this is attractive! Not that I don't just slap it in a case, but did really make me appreciate it. Haha

You could always get a clear case. I've had clear cases for my last three phones.

I just leave it on. It's still on my Note20U also.

I did peel it off my Husband's s10+, along with his factory installed screen protector, before I sent it in for trade-in on his new s22U. I was surprised it all was still intact since receiving the device in February 2019.

I could probably take some lessons from my husband on longevity.

:)

Did not know, till I saw a review by Zach at Jerry rig; but that was after the phone was returned; with it still on.

i took it off of my S9 and note 10+, but after seeing what the otterbox did to my note, I'm leaving it on my S22U. didn't have a problem with the S9 since it had a different model of otterbox case on it.

I just removed it after watching Jerry Riggs everything video on YouTube... I guess it gave it more protection while installing my Whitestone Dome. So it came in handy in that regards.

That's great! I think my S10 had the same film around the edges, too. Nice that Samsung takes that extra bit of care with their products.

To anyone who is looking for a minimalist case:

i ordered a Peel case which is said to be as minimalist as possible and got excellent reviews. Mine is coming on Monday, so 3 more days.

i also must attach a Popsocket on it to help me hold the phone due to hand surgery. the coated glass backs of the S21 Ultra and this current S22 Ultra does NOT allow the Popsocket's adhesive to stick to their coated glass backs :(

Already returned? Well I guess that is your thing.

No. I returned it to prevent a certain cash back website from making a penny on my sale, while screwing me. Only way was to send the phone back. Definitely did NOT return due to the phone itself.

Most likely I will order the exact same phone from Amazon in the next week or two.

And leave the plastic wrap on until after the screen protector is applied.
