This is not my work and was posted in another forum. - Thanks to comradesven

Please be aware that you will need to Odin to DL09 Modem first then you can flash the modemdelta file(s) after that in Clockwork.. These are edify scripted files.. The directions are copied directly from the original post

DIRECTIONS
Flash the DL09 radio (in Odin), which is to be the base from whence all subsequent radios will emerge. Many of you will be using the full DL09 Odin package to do this, but I have posted a link to just the radio below as well.
Flash a zip using CWM to copy the appropriate modem delta file. (Uses Edify scripting)
Reboot to have the phone patch the radio. If necessary, repeat steps 2 and 3.

NOTES & WARNINGS
WHEN USING ODIN, ONLY USE PDA PDA PDA PDA PDA
It doesn't seem to matter whether you are using a Voodoo or stock kernel for the phone to patch the modem, but it won't actually do it until you reboot.
Rebooting from recovery into recovery or download mode does not count as a reboot.
KEEP TRACK OF WHAT VERSION YOUR MODEM IS AFTER COMPLETING EACH STEP. FLASH THE RIGHT ZIP(s). FLASH EACH ZIP ONLY ONCE. There is no build.prop version string checking going on here.
MAKE SURE YOU DO A FULL REBOOT AFTER EACH ONE. ONLY AFTER THE FULL REBOOT DO YOU GO BACK INTO RECOVERY TO FLASH ANOTHER.
The TW Froyo ROMs seem to be OK with booting when an Eclair modem is present. I haven't tested Eclair ROMs with Froyo modems. There may be problems with SMS/MMS or FC loops at the homescreen with mismatched modem + ROMs but the baseband should still have been updated.
Standard disclaimer: These directions work for me. I would not have posted them if I did not have a certain confidence that they will work for you. If they don't, starting over will likely fix it, but I make no guarantees. Therefore, if things break, it is your fault, even if it's mine.

Think about what you're doing, and you will surely maximize your chances of cellular satisfaction!

From reports in the other forum it appears that this is a successful and more rapid way to get to ED01 or ED03 modems than to do the full Odin ROM and update process..

after all the steps to get to the modem you want, it is necessary or recommended to do the *228 on the phone?

All that will do is update the PRL(Prefered Roaming List) - that should not have been lost when the modem was updated..

?successful flash

followed the instructions as listed. when i was flashing the ea28 to ed01 it stated that it didnt install. so when i rebooted it shows that ed01 is listed as the baseband. went through the whole process again and ended up with the same results. am i doing something wrong and is it really installed.

running beloated rooted ed01

If you are getting your baseband as ED01 - It installed.

Edit/Update: I am watching the dialog and it appears that it is installing properly but some people are having issues with it hanging during installs..

~~ Please make sure that you are starting with DL09 (Odin) First then going to EA28 via Clockwork.. Then your ED0x of choice in Clockwork.. It may install and you may still get an error..

~~ Make certain that your downloads are not corrupted before you flash..
