Closing recent apps - yea or nay (or eh...)?

when you guys says "I only close apps when X" to exit out of them do you usually hit the (0) /home screen to exit out of them?

Home button does not exit apps. That just puts it in background still running. Think of it as the minimize button on Windows. Eventually the phone will notice that it's not being used and suspend it. But nevertheless, home does not close the app.
