If you check out his twitter he says he's gonna sign it, and it will be an "autographed piece of prototype history". Seems to me that he is just giving his prototype away. But I could be wrong. Who knows.

That's how I read it at first, but maybe he's just part of the Google giveaway.

If he said it was a prototype then yes you would get it before launch since it is his contest and not through google. People come up with the funniest things when they can't handle waiting a week or so for verizon to announce it

Reading Panda's own tweets, it does appear now that he is talking about a separate contest to win a single Nexus, rather than the official Google contest which will have multiple winners who may not get their loot until the sun burns out.

why is this your response? i have never started a conspiracy, i have never participated in the conspiracy. i thought i uncovered a clue! i didnt do it rude or with malice. several other users batted around several different amicable views and this is how you respond! why do so many people feel the need to throw an ish starting jab? i previously stated two times after someone brought up the possibility of other contest and me misinterpreting the tweet that i am not to big to admit making a mistake!!!

i have only seen one contest regarding galaxy nexus. if there are others, i am not aware. i do not know of him having his own contest. if so, then obviously what i have found is baseless.

I'd say on or before black friday. Good timing for the holidays. Include some sort of special for the release week and early christmas gifts, here we come!

There's no way the Nexus will come before Black Friday. It's just not going to happen. I'm thinking December 1st or 8th it will be here. Don't forget that A LOT of Verizon reps don't even know this device exists. If it was going to launch in a little more then a week they would all know about it. I know some stores have started training and things of that nature but I just can't see it happening that soon. I think it will most likely be around 14 days after the Rezound launches. That's USUALLY what they do but the Razr and Rezound launches both throw usual out the window.

You really think they would all know about it? I called and asked about the rezound last week and they had no idea about it. Reps are clueless and if you honestly think they would know anything more than a few days before, you have not dealt with verizon much.

So hown many times in the past, with the pending release of a super "Hot" smartphone, has there been advertisments showing battery and battery covers for the yet to be formally announced phone? The cart before the horse? This Nexus Prime phone, in my opinion, will prove to be the most important android smartphone release of all time. Android 4.0 will redefine how phones inneract with tablets and PC's, I'm just sure of it. A December release date is OK by me, I just hope there WILL be a release! The Bionic mess sticks in my mind.

My cousin is a regional manager in southern California and he said the leaked date of w/o the 17 probably mean that pre-sales will start on the 17 and they usually go about a week and so that puts release date on black friday. i know its nothing solid but hes been a very reliable source to me

I was actually referring to giving a device away myself... I have a couple of prototype units and as others have made their way in the wild I wanted to give someone a special gift...

This is not connected to the Gnex challenge that is ongoing on twitter....

this on doesnt require an IQ of 459 to win..

VZW isn't being "shady" They wont announce a date until they know they can meet it. ty releases like the bionic and thunderbolt are reasons they don't give dates until they are ready. Plus those 2 phones were busts and you can't judge anything by those.
