Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

WELL... back to DB for me.... bummer.... I just cant get a solid lock on 3g or 4g, it is hit of miss... oh well...

lol :( <don't like>

I just spent the last 2 hours getting on my backups in place and such to try this out because you had me all excited. Guess I'll pass now. :)

I'm going to have to flash something now... hmm, recommendations? Has to be GB with 2.5 radio.

Freaking love it. It loads the phone fast, loads the apps fast, it charges fast, and connects to USB, fast. LOLz

Not really sure I see a good answer... If I load the CM7 on my device, why do I need this GAPPS file??? What does it change, and why is it separate... just wondering if anyone knows???

Gapps is a package of google apps - you need to flash this with cm7 bc cm7 does not have these apps baked in like most roms usually do.

there are two versions - one version for MR1 radio, and one version for MR2.x radios.

try flashing a new kernel. Usually when a boot loop occurs, it's kernel related. Or, what you can try is wiping cache and dalvik cache then flash the rom over again. Could be one of the bugs everyone experiences (once in a blue moon) where something messed up while it was initially flashed.

I have tried the recent CM7 build and although I like it, I cannot get a consistent 3g signal. When I do have a signal, the download speeds are not as high as the previous sense roms that I have tried. Plus the GPS is annoying the (insert curse word) because I cannot get an exact pinpoint on my location. The GPS only seems to work somewhat ok when you have the Network Location enabled. If I disable the network location, the standalone GPS will not lock-on (although I did not wait any longer than 2 minutes to see if it locked on).

CM7 is very snappy and has so many things that the end user can customize, it's a shame that I cannot get both of those 2 things to work consistently. I am sure that there will be official build with everything working flawlessly by the end of summer. Until then, I will be playing the waiting game.

All I know is that Slayher and all of the other devs are busting their humps trying to get this to where it has to be. They are some great devs.

Did you wipe your device, clear the cache and clear your Dalvik cache prior to loading the ROM???

I finally got to work what I think might have been the problem was actually GAPPS weird haha

I've been having to go into settings each time to turn on 3G with CDMA/EVDO Auto option then switch it to LTE everytime anyone else have this same issue?

Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

ON the first page of this thread click on the first link and then select the link for which ever radio u are using.. either the mr1 or mr2 or mr2.5, then select the second link that I posted for Gapps. once you have them both downloaded. plug you phone in and place both zip files on the root of you SD card.
NOW before you do anything at all.. MAKE A NANDROID back up first just in case some thing goes wrong you can fall back on your backup. once done. go into ROM manager and reboot into recovery, then do a full wipe, cache wipe, and under advanced -a dalvik wipe. (just to be safe repeat these three steps twice) - then select install zip from SD and choose the CM7 zip that you put on your sd card after that immediately flash the Gapps zip too. once they are done just select reboot phone from the menu.(it may take a few minutes) but you should have successfully flashed CM7 and Gapps at the same time :) then just go through the directions for setting up google accts on you phone (self explanitory) ... good luck

Hey, this might seem a dumb question, but im having a hard time downloading the files you talked about as zip files. how do i go about downloading them as zip files? I have a mac and everytime i download them they get opened. Do u have any idea how to keep them as zips?

What extension do they have? If it's still 1 file you could probably just change the extension to .zip

I've got it loaded up and it's doing pretty good. Takes a little while to lock in on 4g, but all in all good so far. I'm running the 2.5 radio

How did you get it to lock onto the 4g signal? Mine just has been sitting with no data. How long did it take for the signal to lock? hours? minutes?

I had a bit of trouble getting it to lock too. I reflashed my radio on top of the ROM, and it seemed to work to fix it. If it doesn't lock within an hour, I would try that. I originally flashed the MR2 radio over my MR2.5 radio, and that fixed the problem.

Eventually, I went back to 2.5, and it is still working fine.

OK. I reflashed the MR2.5...hopefully that will fix it.

Did you have 3g before it locked onto the 4g?
