CM7 RC1 released

Pville comp, I flashed cm7rc1 and the gps is a little iffy. I can get it dialed in by opening gps status app and then maps. Is this because I tried to restore data using titanium?

I'm wondering if my solution will be to try to flash v39 nightly through recovery, but first formatting the system, cache, and data and then doing a titanium restore of apps only? Or should I completely forget about titanium?

Also, I'm having an issue with words with friends not being able to access a url but I'm wondering if this is an issue with adfree.

I would un-install/re-install Google Maps, and see if that fixes your GPS. I have had no issue acquiring GPS and I use it all the time. My experience has been that CM7 acquires faster than the stock Sense.

And yes I would try Words with Friends w/o adfree. I have not used Words with Friends but that is a logical first step.

Anyone having issues with Gtalk? I rarely get my msg before I get the email that tells me who chatted with me when i was offline. When I go into gtalk it shows my status available, but all my friends signed off.

First of all forgive the very noobish nature of this question but I'm still new to all this having only got my Incredible, which is my first smart phone, this past Christmas. Anyways I'm getting sick of waiting for an official gingerbread update that might never happen and I'm not a big fan of HTC sense, so I'm seriously considering rooting my phone and installing a stock gingerbread rom. The CM7 RC sounds like it would be a good choice but before I pull the trigger I want to know, is this a stable rom? And does USB, GPS and most importantly wifi all work?

Everything works but the 720P video. The camera works, but is a work in progress. RC1 is a good place to start, but there have been a bunch of fixes and feature updates in the nightlies that you may want to consider.

The ROM is very stable and I have been using it as a daily driver for a while now.

Check out the nightlies thread as well.

Thanks. I'll defiantly take a look at at the nightlies. I might also use CM 6.1 until the final version of CM7 is released.

I have been running CM7 RC1 now for a short time and have to say it is excellent. One thing though. I updated my radio to 9.01, which is the latest unofficial froyo release, for the install and noticed it was a big battery hog. I downgraded back to the official froyo release of 7.28 and my battery life is excellent. CM7 RC1 is awesome.

I'm running into the USB problem as well..

fixed it- was cycling too low, so to whomever had the problem earlier in the thread: kick your minimum up

Haha wow, that's really all it was. Bumped my min up to ~500MHz and all is well. Thanks glacier, and everyone else who lent their advice.

Is "the usb problem" where it freezes up when plugged into a computer. I had an issue with my computer finding my phone's internal memory but not finding the sd card and then it froze up and I had to pull the battery. Ended up restoring my Nandroid and back to virtuous for me but I'm still intrigued by CM7.

Used it for a week. Here are my thoughts:

Made of 95% pure awesome and win

As for the other 5%

a) Battery life is hor-ri-ble. After the install I reoriented my battery (bump charge, delete batterystats, full drain, bumpcharge again) and I still can't go 24 hours without hitting the charger. I had Virtuous Sense prior as my daily ROM, and after 24 hours I'd be at 25% - 30%.

b) slower browsing experience and browser loading freezes intermittently. I can't tell if this is just the way things are outside of sense (never really not had the sense UI) or if this is attributed to the ROM itself, just a bad install, or just my imagination (last one is doubtful - I started shaking my phone like an etch-a-sketch to get pages to load quicker...that's new).

Either way, overwhelmingly a great ROM (I think I like stock over sense), but the two issues I experienced are enough for me to go back to Virtuous for at least the next month or so.

Hello,

I just recently rooted my Incredible and Flashed CM7 on it. I must say its awesome so far but there is one little thing bothering me ... Websites are all loading their mobile versions by default and I cant find any settings to keep that from happening. Earlier I realized that I didnt have flash installed so did that hoping that would help but it didnt. Can anyone help me out with this.

Thanks in advance!!

I found that when you go into the settings for the browser, at the bottom there is an option for "Select User Agent". Under that you will see several options, Android, Froyo, Linxus Desktop, Mac Desktop, etc.... I use Linxus Desktop. You will not pick up the mobile websites with that and a few of the others. Good luck..
