CodenameDroid stuck in verizon login loop

I have a CDMA Galaxy nexus(Verizon of course) - that I've successfully rooted and have clockwork and Rom Manager installed . I can successfully install various ROMs without problem. I have to flash the clockwork mod each time right before booting into recovery but that's easy enough and works reliably.

After trying several ROMs I really like Codename Droid and have this same problem on 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 using Google apps.
The ROM itself works fine but when I apply the google apps and boot the phone it gets stuck in the Verizon login wizard. It says touch here and when I do it crashes and restarts(the wizard).
I can access the settings and such and even make a call but the "Home" screen is this crashing/perpetual logon wizard I can't get rid off. I tried a couple different releases of the Apps just to check and they both do the same thing.
Like I said - the OS/Rom itself(w/o Google apps) is working fine and I REALLY like it...but I can't use it because I need Google apps and that isn't happening.
Several other roms work fine w/Google apps - but they don't compare to CodenameDROID :)

You are instructed to install gapps right after you install the rom. You are not supposed to boot it up, play with it, then install gapps.

Tried it both ways already...same result. The first time I did it as instructed and got the crashing logon loop...then to test I did it w/o apps and the rom worked fine(less the critically needed google apps).
I actually did it several times in addition, trying to find a combo or version of either that worked together.

Make sure you have the current gapps for the rom. Then reboot recovery wipe data then flash the rom then the gapps and all should be fine.

Ok...that was the problem...I was trying the google apps builds that are listed in rom manager.
Once I used the google apps listed in the link you posted...it worked like a charm :)

Thanks for the direction...I'm happy to be moving the this ROM permanently.
