compact camera recommendation

Hi Mr Mobile,

My girlfriend recently commented that she used to take a lot more photos (and enjoy it too) when she had a dedicated digital camera. She isn't big into cell phones and as a result hates taking hers out of her purse in social settings, while traveling, etc even to take a picture.

Can you recommend a good (as good or better/as east or easier to operate than cell phone camera), reasonably priced (maybe even cheap), and if possible vintage looking camera that she can keep in her purse?

It doesn't need too many smart features (I plan on setting up a sync to google photos from the pc), so really just ease of use and image quality matters.

Wish I could help here, but I've been in the exact opposite position basically forever (never wanted to carry more than I needed to, so I pushed phones into service as cameras well before they were ready). I've seen some cool stuff from Casio, but they don't sell their cameras in the US anymore.

Anyone else got a recco?
