Just curious if anyone has done this to compare mine to.
I fully charged it last night and took it off the charger at midnight, at 6am it was at 76%. It was sitting on my desk the whole night untouched. Seems like an awful lot of drain...
Can anyone give me a comparison to theres?
thanx

Re: comparison of standby drain

Hi,

I typically see a drain rate of around 3% an hour during the day, but that includes picking up notifications, texts, checking the time etc...
So yes that does seem slightly high for just standby. Was your phone paired and located within reasonable range?
Also how long have you had the watch? as I noticed the battery life significantly improve after a week of charging cycles.

Re: comparison of standby drain

I jsut got the watch but it was used off craigslist...
phone was within a foot for the watch all night..
I have a feeling it hasnt been cycled (full charge/discharge) much yet... yesterday it got to 5% around 7pm... but it didnt die till after 9pm... which tells me its not fully calibrated just yet (I hope)

Also, no custom watch faces install, just the stock ones

thanx

Re: comparison of standby drain

Yeah I'd give it a few more charge cycles before drawing any final conclusions. I had pretty terrible battery for the first 2-3 days. Now typically I go to bed at night with around 50% left (16 hours off the charger).

Also check you are running the latest software (KNX01S) as that makes a huge difference!

3% discharge average in the wrist. 1% on standby resting on the desk.

Re: comparison of standby drain

Latest sw and build is on it, thanx for the replies. Going to let it run a few days till it powers itself down then, then see if things improve...
On the side in working with Motorola to see if they will replace it due to slight cracking on the back... So who knows...

Re: comparison of standby drain

The newest update has made the battery awful for me. The previous update was perfect, it basically made the watch last two days on h charge. Now I have to charge it after lunch to barely make it to the end of the day, all in exchange for soma new watch faces in the Moto app. I don't get how it got so much worse than without any updates let alone the fact it appeared fixed for the past month.

Am I the only one?

Re: comparison of standby drain

I'm exactly in the same situation. From the previous update I got solid 16 hours of use. Since last weekend I'm getting only 3 to 4 hours of battery. Already tried to reset, to put on airplane mode, to keep it disconnected and stills the same....

I'm super upset, I have to recharge every day after lunch. I think it's the new moto fitness apps, going to try to shut them off

I've been keeping a log since I got the latest updates to 4.4W.2 on the watch and 2.02.21-107 for connect. My testing isn't showing any bad battery performance, averaging about 3% depletion per hour with light usage and wearing it during the entire window of time logged (calendar notification, SMS notification, telephone call notification, various Google Now cards). I don't use it for monitoring email, FB, Twitter, etc.
