Compiling and unofficial CM14.1 build for samsung Galaxy S5+ (kccatxx)

Hi wondered if any of you can help, i'm trying to build a branch of this distro,

for a kccat6xx device, as i'm trying to add USB WIFI support for RLT8188C_8192C.

I've not yet added my drivers as i wanted to get the standard build to complete first.

This is my first go at building an android kernel from source. I've been using sktjdgns1189, compiled version of CM13 for well over a year and it's been really good. (few teething problems but so much faster than stock!!!!)

Here's what I've done to compile this version so far.

mkdir ~/bin
curl https://storage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ~/bin/repo
chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
mkdir cm14.1
cd cm14.1
repo init -u https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-14.1
repo sync

The above all complete successfully

I've created the .repo/local_manifests/kccat6.xml file with the content of the readme.md from your source

repo sync #files appear to add to my local copy
source build/envsetup.sh #completes successfully

my problems start here.
brunch and breakfast both give the same output for cm_kkcat6 for both...

brunch kccat6 and kccat6xx the same as the output below.

$ brunch kccat6

No such item in brunch menu. Try 'breakfast'

I've tried renaming my .repo/local_manifests/kccat6.xml to roomservice.xml and rerunning repo sync, but it still barfs with the same message on brunch and breakfast.

Can anyone help?

I'm not 100%, but perhaps this could be a reason why the build is not completing: Yes, this is us. – Lineage OS – Lineage OS Android Distribution

Cyanogen shut down and I'm pretty sure that meant the open OS as well. It was rebranded as Lineage. Again, I'm not sure that this is the reason why your build is not completing, but perhaps it could be a factor.

The download of the Cyanogen repo completed successfully was massive! I think the error has something to do with this being an unofficial build that wasn't listed on the old site. (prepared to be wrong though) i'll give the new github link ago and let you know how i get on. Thanks.

Ok I've switched the repository on git to lineageos but i still get the same message as before. I think the problem has something to do with the image being unofficial. Unfortunately the S5's had so many variations the S5+ (kccat6xx) only ever had unofficial CM releases.

I'm facing the same issue, if you've found any solution can you please tell me?
